Dont ask for new content - apparently only an update of whats already available by modders is planned... ok with the difference we shall pay for it.

I think base game should give more options with good mechanics, then modders can make great content and add those Focus trees (I don't like those focus trees at all.. I think it isn't interesting thing).
But I don't think that mods can change game mechanics and how research are working.

Will there be possible to capture enemy equipment during battles? From encirclements and from won battles when enemy retreats?

If its AI and not only AI related... By then none stops podcat to elaborate on it.

Why should he though if, as he said, it's not ready to be talked about in depth because it still needs work? I would rather they wait a week or two, get it working, and then tell us about it.

Please please just ad in 20 or so generic rulers and generals - doing it nation by nation will take forever and it is so annoying when you have 4 generals and they are all the same guy.

Nice update on Romania, but......Wow.

Not one word on what fixes you are working on to solve the issues players have reported since 1.3.3? Not even a list of issues you recognize need work on? You have got to realize this was not going to make some people happy.

Like always we talk about bugfixes towards the end. Diary also tells you we have been working on some major AI stuff but that its not ready to be shown yet.

Great diary in all, and I do really like the Reflections part, but... like others have said what about the AI? It is the biggest complain of the game. SINCE LAUNCH by the way!

We work on the AI every day, as I said we reveal stuff when its ready and have already talked about areas of focus on the forum so you'll have to be patient.

The ai is a long journey. Its going to keep improving for years, there are no shortcuts.

I would like more complex systems in place rather than focus trees, more deapth is definitely needed.

As you see above people have strong opinions about AI and such. You cant really do both huge complex systems and work 100% on AI, so we balance development effort between fixes (where most time is spent on AI) and features while adding immersion and flavor through focus trees. People who make focus trees do not work on AI, but they help pay the bills for AI development.

10 months after release, your latest patch broke the AI for the protagonist for the entire war, and you post about a focus tree and a couple of General pics of a minor nation.

You still don't get it do you?

Well atleast I got a response, which I very much appreciate!

And like I said I do really like the Reflections part, and I would love to see it part of more Dev Diaries.

Ho god, I didn't realise this dev diary was meant to sumarize the whole content of the next dlc AND the patch. I may have been fooled by Podcat hinting (by writing it down) that the next dd would be about mechanics or by the fact that, last time they did a patch to fix bugs and AI flaws, they waited until the last moment to reveal its content (something to do with the fact that they don't know early on what they can realistically promise in term of fixes).

I am not a fan of focus trees and events since they are highly moddable but let's see what we've got for the depth-related additions...

Some nerf of the generic focus tree, similar to the one the Commonwealth received, with a lot of "filler" focuses to lengthen the focus tree. At least, for the fist glance.

1/ Romania gets only 3 industry focuses. Most probably 3-4 IC total, less than the 7 available from the generic tree. ROM already lacked build slots by 1937, it will be worse.
2/ Only a single research team focus, so apparently Romania is limited to 4 research slots.
3/ No "Axis/Comintern Research" focus for the Fascist/Communist political branch, unlike what the CW nations already have. Another unused feature.

DOD is likely an acronym for the DLC. What could it stand for, given that the context is Axis? My money is on Day of Defeat.

That's it???
You were gone for 6 weeks you come back and tell
Most played country is Germany
We have mixed feelings about NF

Then you give us history lesson about Romania during WW2 which we already know

6 weeks,where are new stuffs ?

And later you ask why are people disappointed

6 weeks and we get history lesson and announcement that Romania is next for improving
Common sense tells that in this 6 weeks you should have something

SHAME ON YOU

Let's be honest: if the dev diary had not included a new focus tree, someone would inevitably complain that lazy Paradox relies on the modders to do the job, and how can they say it focuses on the Axis when the minors don't get any love.

Yeah, I also noticed that, the limitation in research slots also bother me. And I'm under the impression this tree will be over long before those from TfV.
I'm not so surprised about the lack in common reasearch, though. Unless I'm mistaken, it's a TfV feature so those who didn't purchase this dlc won't get access to it. I'm a bit disappointed since, in my opinion, it was one of the best TfV features and it most likely won't be used again in the future.

Romania looks very neat! As always its depressing to see how negative some people can be with every dev diary.
It's a real bummer to see such negativity because it really made my day! @podcat don't let others get you down. You really started the new dev diaries with a boom and deserve a pat on the back!
