Step 1 - Report your OP
Step 2 - Explain that you want thread title changed and include new title in report
Step 3 - Wait patiently
Step 4 - Moderators will fix thread title

I don't think normal users can change thread titles, in the same vein I don't believe you can delete your own thread either.

Is it not? Since a while back, all users can if they are the thread starters.
 
Thread has been updated with how a user can change a thread title, thank you to loup99 for the screenshots and request :)

I'm open to that :) I won't implement it without TinyWiking's ok.

I was also hoping to get some of these onto the support site, as people might go there trying to figure out how to do things.

hey is there a limit to how many watched threads will continue to give alerts to new posts? because i've gone around to some threads across the forum i haven't seen any activity on for a while to find several pages i never knew about.

Pretty sure there's no upper limit; and if there is you most likely haven't hit it. I have 3493 watched threads and so far I haven't experienced any of them not giving alerts. Now there's a bug which sometimes means that when going to the first unread post you actually skip several posts, but it will still show up in the list.
What you almost certainly has run into is the statute of limitations: When a post is older than a month it's registered as read. I.e. if all posts in a thread are older than a month and you haven't read it all, it will show as nothing new in it, but there will be new posts you haven't read.

ah. well that makes some sense at least. i'm not sure if it's the statute of limitations though, most threads i've been subbed to for a long time (as far back as when the current forum went live) rarely give me notices. and even the HOI 4 Kaisereich thread which isn't all THAT old hasn't given me anything in probably a month. i'd thought that thread had gone inactive but i just saw it today and noticed a bunch of new pages. i guess i'll try unsubbing and resubbing to some threads.

Seems strange. I have never had problems with watched threads not showing up in watchlists when posted in; in fact just a few days ago somebody necroed an EU4 thread from 2014 and the forum faithfully gave me a notice about this thread having a new post. (I posted in it back in 2014.)

None of us can beat Vinraith though; he had himself see an notification of new posts in a thread he had posted in 14 years previously.:p
It's the below thread and it actually was an allowed revival despite it having been lying dormant for 14 years; the reason being that it was relevant to the topic and that there'd been a new development in the topic.

Where do you see this amount? I have 140 pages of threads.

Each page contains 20 watched threads, so 140 pages means that you're subscribed to around 2800 threads; to get the exact number you count the number of threads on the past page and add it to the total of all the other pages.

6 044 subscribed thread and no failed alerts i could spot. Some necroing on occasions, but nothing as impressive as yours, not even to mention Vinrzith's...
