On serious note I think that Paradox will let us customize the names of our governments so all these suggestions will be equally valid! I do hope that the solar system is represented accurately (as it is in the GalCiv games). Also to those not liking the use of Terran what's wrong with it?

Now as for my silly suggestion....
The eternal Empire of Rome is really the only way to go.

We are in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy, second largest galaxy of the local cluster, so I think I want to call my Earth-based Empire the United Nations of Orion. U, N, O! U, N, O!

Or I will go large and name it after our local cluster, dominated by Andromeda, Milky Way, and Triangulum galaxies. A, M, T! A, M, T!
