Hungarian monarch event file, by Tamas.

Why Matyas Hunyadi and not Matyas Corvin?

I suspect Corvin is the german translation.

Iirc, Hunyadi was the family name of both Janos (the father, see Siebenburgen) and Matyas (the son). And Matyas took a raven as his symbol later on, thus gaining name "Corvinus", which is a latin word.

Corvin was his nickname. He was a Hunyadi, and since imho he and his father have been the greatest leaders this country has ever seen, I thought Hunyadi is the proper one.

If in doubt and it concerns Hungary, I think we stick with Tamas.

Well, with all due respect to Tamas' knowledge, I got some grips on the monarchs, based on the fact that neither the Hapsburgs nor the Jagellons would be involved in Bohemia in the history of aberration, since Poland has been crushed by the Teutonic Order and the Hapsburgs have stayed in Swabia. The monarchs simply are not "alternate history" enough for my taste ;)
  • get rid of the Hapsburgs Albrecht of Hapsburg and Ladislaus Postumus and the Jagiellos Ulászló I and Ulászló II, for the reasons mentioned above
  • instead have Janos Hunyadi succeed Sigismund, using the assumption that with no Albrecht of Hapsburg as son in law and chosen heir of Sigismund, Janos and his supporters would just have seized power
  • since we have an even stronger Hungary than in history, I think it would not be unrealistic to let the illegitimate son of Mathias Corvinus, Janos, succeed to the throne after his death. IRL, Mathias had chosen him as heir and got the succession confirmed by the Hungarian nobility, but they decided to betray him when he was dead. We could then let Janos die on his historical deathdate, October 12th 1504, and have Janos Zapolya succeed to the throne then
  • it might be good to remove all those remarks, like "Went on to become King of Poland" etc from the monarch file
  • get rid of the interregnum between 1599 and 1605, there are no Hapsburgs to occupy Hungary at that time. Instead either let Zsigmond Báthory rule until 1605 or István Bocskai start in 1599.

Hmmm, without Venice which city would become the major centre of trade in the Adriatic-Hungarian region? Ragusa? An other city on the coast or a city in Hungary itself?

How about Budapest? :)

That would be most convenient. But realistic?

I suppose as the Danube is on the Black Sea, it would depend on Hungary having wealthy trading partners in that region. That's probably not the case.

Maybe Istria?
I've forgotten how the map looks, can't see it at work either :(

Will add a screenie tomorow, newest version with a CoT in Dalmatia for now.

Why can't Venice (city) be major trade center without Venice (nation)? Putting CoT to Venice would also give Milan CoT straight away.

Because Venice got important because of her indepedence. A small backwater Venice in the milanese realm wouldn´t emerge as a big CoT in Europe.

Transylvania and Banat need other goods than sheeps to make them somewhat viable and Ruthenia will prolly become maygar and get iron as a good.

Transylvania should have gold. For a long time, Hungary was 3rd largest gold producer in Europe, and afaik, most of this came from there.

As for CoT, "Magyar" should be it, as you already said.

Woohoo, a second, I thought a good product not outright gold, I need serious backing for this. For the CoT as I said if should be in Hungary itself instead of the Coast I need serious backing event-wise, or alternate history wise.

I think that a CoT in Dalmatia at start and then with some event choice it could move to Magyar, with proper background that supports the moving of an important center of trade inland.

Very few CoTs in EU2 are inland, remember.
