1520 IGC scenario ready
The 1520 start date campaign (Baltic.exe) from Paradox has been given the IGC treatment. I sent it off to the IGC crew (Doomdark and Hartmann) recently. It uses all the basic IGC files, and is really just the IGC with a different start date. Thus, it would not exist without the great work of the IGC crew and Paradox. I did have to adjust some errors that had crept in to the original Paradox file (like the Cape Verdes uncontrolled instead of belonging to Portugal), as well as make sure it was IGC compatible and historical. All the IGC nations, leaders, monarchs, etc., are used.
Running the IGC like this from 1520 does fix a number of historical situations EU/IGC struggled to cope with, for example:
Netherlands is Spanish controlled from the start.
Mamelukes, Granada, Navarra already annexed.
Sweden is only briefly a vassal before becoming free.
England, France rapidly colonizing the America's (now slowed in colonization since they know no provinces in 1520).
Spain (on the verge of) annexing the Aztecs, (usually) conquering the Incas (unless a player intervenes
)
Portugal exploration/colonization of India/Indonesia.
Lack of tags (NAV/Navarra, BRI/Bretagne, PSK/Pskov, MAM/Mamelukes, TRI/Granada all open, unless left as revolters.....)
And so on.
It is of course up to the IGC crew when/if it gets added to the configuration tool, and if it comes in the next IGC download. However, the scenario will run now (I have run multiple full length games). I bring this up because if anyone is dying to test it, I can see about sending off the .inc/.eug files - all you need, if IGC 2.0k is installed.
Again, this would not exist without all the great work of Doomdark, Hartmann, Paradox, and the IGC crew. Thanks to all of them.
