  1. We are building an in-house localization team that starts with a producer and engineer dedicated to the effort.
Comes for Dragonfall now a localisation too ?
the localisation policy was a joke by dragonfall.

First there was an localisation, then you must work on it and then the localisation was stopped...

I hope you have learned now what translating all needs. Overall 10 month for 3 languages is the longest period i have ever seen on a game. A lot of indiedevs are faster (with the same mass of text). AAA Game devs are much faster.

Good day, dear developers! Can we look at a working screenshot of the game with an example of translation, for example Russian localization? For example, the translation of the battlemech, the weapons or the planet. Just eager to find out what it looks like and the quality of the translation. Unless it's a secret, of course. Thanks in advance!

Only after looking at Flashpoint expansion Steam page I realised that both Battletech and Flashpoint pages were translated to Russian. It caught my eye that "Mech" and "Mechwarrior" words were left in English. Would it be like this in game translation too? Is there an option for discussion between HBS translators and Russian community on this one?
Because for mech' names, rules of Russian language clearly state that mech' names should not be translated, but there are some nuances on how to translate (or not) the "Mech" and "Mechwarrior" words, and some other in-universe technology names etc.

[Mod edit: This is the English language forum as per site rules posts should be in English for forum staff oversight. There are Other language subforums for some other languages. Please translate posts here on this Battletech subforum into English before posting. Thank you]

[translated: If you ... read the whole topic, then on the second page you would see all the answers to your questions. And you didn't have to suffer in writing tons of text. Be careful, there are not so many pages. The original names of the furs will be left, as these are the denomination names and they will be in English.

Here is the answer to your question.]
We will follow what we have seen as the historical usage trend in other BT games and books that have been translated, which is that proper names in the universe remain in English.

Not sure if we should use Russian language for posting on English forums.
My question is not about mechs' names.

I understand what you mean. I would translate Mechs and Mechwarrior, as in the Russian version will be well read. Will still refer to the books, as there translated. A page in Steam has been translated for a long time and it can not be taken as a basis, as now Paradox helps to translate.

i dont think that paradox is helpi9ng with the translations other then giving HBS a bigger budget and letting them do their thing.
HBS has stated that they hired a new larger localization team not paradox.

It can be. In any case, for us players, that is, consumers, the main end result and a quality product in the end. I hope that before November 27, we will see a video with an example of localizations. It seems to say that there will be two more videos from HBS.

I would like to get the latest information from the developers on this topic. Or can you tell us how the progress in translations is going? Thanks in advance!

Yesterday's stream also said that the localizations are aimed at the release of patch 1.3, but perhaps it will be necessary to shift. How much can shift the output of localizations, if this happens?

That is referencing the same info as our 10/19 announcement: "We're targeting November 27th, to release this Beta alongside Flashpoint and Update 1.3, but it may end up being slightly staggered to accommodate testing schedules." No new news to report, just lots of testing, fixing, and assessment on a day by day basis to clear the most egregious bugs and have a quality bar that we believe will meet beta level expectations. If there is a shift, it will be a matter of days rather than weeks, but that call will be made at the last possible moment in order to give it the best shot we can.

There's a holiday coming up next week :) .
