I'm glad to read that you haven't excluded to add Blender support whether by providing a plug-in or only the .mesh format to let anyone work on an exporter. Really cool spirit. Thanks again Paradox. :)

Paradox is one of my favourite companies because of how it helps and interacts with the community. I think acts like this just confirms it.

I remember that a considerable amount of people bought medieval 2: total war and arma 2 simply for the third age mod and zombie mod,i imagine the longevity of future paradox titles will be extended like this.

Great!

I'm getting the following error. Any idea how to fix it? The pdx_exporter.mll file seems to be in the correct folder C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2015\bin\plug-ins\

// Error: file: F:/Documents/maya/2015-x64/scripts/pdx_export_ui.mel line 34: Cannot find procedure "pdx_exporter".

EDIT: Like an idiot I forgot to load the plugins from the Plugin Manager. Fixed.

Won't this come in conflict with the Content Packs? Because who would buy unit packs and such when they can download them from the Workshop?

Because pressumably the offical unit packs will be of a average higher quality and neither will be the exact same even if they depict the same countries. This will just add to the possiblity for players and enable even more choice and variety in unit looks, personally I can't wait to see what is created!

Downloading Maya as I type this.
Educational license, obviously. Been a while.

Out of curiosity, are those EU4 models in the picture from the unreleased Evangelical Pack?
Pretty sure that pack is just a myth.

Seriously though, it looks like it. I think I may keep using GM_Kaiser's French mod, I like his tier 4 better. The rest are lovely though :)

Is this just graphics? I thought it was some kind of full modding?

Well.. with this exporter and the other mod support we offer in our games, is more required? :p

I can't remember what it was, but I do remember a few times asking how to mod X or Y and being told I couldn't because it was in the code or somesuch. (I don't understand modding very well, so I apologize if I'm talking nonsense)

No worries, and of course, there are some things that modders can't do since we do not hand out the source code to the engine, but this is a huge step forwards to the actual depth of the modds that can be created by the respective teams.

Some sort of "importer" so that we can use some of the official models as base would be neat for folk that want to start modding 3D graphics... like me! :D

Still an exporter is great! Really useful stuff!

EXCELLLLLLLLLLLLLLENT

I can already think of several uses!

  1. Non-humans in the EU4 "Fallout" Mod! (GHOULS GHOULS GHOULS!)
  2. Tanks and vehicles in the EU4 "Fallout" Mod!
  3. Tanks and vehicles in the EU4 "Modern Age" Mods!
  4. White Walkers in the CK2 "Game of Thrones" Mod!
  5. POLAND BALLS ON HORSES in the EU4 "Commonwealth/Poland Ball" Mod!
  6. Non-humans in the CK2 "Mario" Mod!
