Yes I did.My mother and I have 3 PC including the notebook PC.But in every PC I could operate,My platinum pack occured same error even though I changed non-unicode support to English US or UK.(all OS is XP Service pack 2 and only my notebook PC is XP
service pack 1.)
And In my PC , by using regedit.exe, I changed to English at installation language of XP.But it had no effect.

I have asked Paradoxian Flori to take a look at this thread and see what he can come up with. I do not have a copy of platinum CD so it is a little hard for me to say exactly what to do.

No problem hopefully he will have some insight.
Ofcourse he will not be in until Mon morning so we must wait.

Sorry about that problem. You will probably want to strangel me after reading my post, but: Have you tried Norvegian settings?

The guy has the norvergian letter "ø" in his name, and unfortunately we did not change it. The file is called:
bryhn_asbjørn_nor.bmp or bryhn_asbj¢rn_nor.bmp

Good luck,

Florian

PS: In HoI2 there should not be any more problems like that. Personally I usually still stick to dos type names... 8 letters, standard English alphabet.

As many new consumers will probably be not as determined as Yuni and the market is the whole world, in a practical sense, I think this need to be fixed with a quick-patch on the Platinum release, alternatively with a small, but official, tech note on the download page (a few small technotes there could be a good pay off).

A certain percent of the consumers will not even find the discussion forums or at least not use them in efficient manner. It's some clicks from the main page to the support forum.
What interest I have on this? Well, more HOI gamers mean a bigger buck for the developers (I guess that's the idea anyway) and fed developers mean more HOI work in the future. Which mean more good game-playing for me :D

PS. Yeah, I thought about that 'nor' and norweigian, but...DS.

Just to confirm you have copied the CD to the HD and changed the name of the file to remove any special characters, then edited the file name in the Data1.hdr to be the same that you changed the file name to? and you did all this with the simplified drive label?

Only in the data1.hdr I could edit.Any other is not possible because I am not programmer.A little bit changing caused setup.exe file error.
I think data1.hdr is link the other.

It worked for the last problem you had though. which is why I do not understand why it won't work in this situation.
