Installation??

1 - Have a clean HOI 1.05c install.
2 - Create a directory named "TGW" inside your HOI main directory
3 - Unpack the zip file into that new "TGW" directory
4 - Go to the directory and run the "no_time_limit_12_special.exe". Show it where HOI.exe is (your HOI main directory) so it can patch it to use the 1914-1924 time frame.
5 - Create a shortcut to the patched executable.
6 - Edit the shortcut's properties so that it runs path\Hoi.exe TGW instead of path\hoi.exe

You should have a working TGW mod. If you want to, you can create a copy of HOI.exe before doing step 4, that way you'll have a patched HOI and an unpatched one, so you can run TGW and vanilla HOI.

EDIT:

7 - (Optional) When editing the shortcut's properties, click "Change Icon", then "Browse", find the TGW dir and use the official TGW icon. :)

is all that really necassary? i jsut copied the main HOI folder. extracted the great war to it (the main folder) and ran the no time limit and launched the HOI.exe :)
 
Well, yes, that's another way to do it. (A bit more disruptive to the vanilla game, but still)

Oh, sorry, the 1.05c doesn't really need to be all that clean, I think. By creating the TGW dir, you avoid overwriting files HOI will need to run. If you don't prize your HD space, just copy the HOI dir and have fun! :)
 
Have completed all steps- having trouble pointing new shortcut to hoi.exe TGW

Install probs

I did evrythng the TWG readme said to do in the corrext order. But, when i run it after the screen loads it starts flashing lack every once in a while and it says HOI V.1.5c at the top. I go to SP and there are no scenarios. I really want to play this mod so can someone please help me!
 
I'm afraid the mod is somewhat unplayable at the moment (being a beta, after all). You will likely have to wait for 1.01b for a stable version. :(
 
Make sure that the target and the starting in directory of your launch icon are for the clean copy version. Even if the target is correct, if the start directory is wrong you will pcik up the un-modeded verison of HOI.EXE. trust me I have done the same thing :)
 
If you press ignore the game will still start fine. Over the next patches these errors will be worked on.
