I completely agree. A full rework to make it [trade] more fun and realtistic would be great.
My plans for DLC for Imperator was for them to avoid the mistakes of EU4 where we had to add new mechanics every expansion, and instead focus on content like missions, unique things for specific countries etc.
I am very happy with how the dlc for Imperator was made, and I think those types of DLC is the best.
Luckily for the community, the mod 'Invictus' adds this type of content for free now!
Agree. Gonna add from myself - Imperator certainly deserve the title of "last paradox game with decent combat system". CK3 combat was gutted compared to CK2, and Vic3 combat system... well, you can't say anything bad about something which simply don't exist.Imperator really is a great and fun game in current state...for where it was abandoned i would even say one of the most polished paradox products i've played at it's stage in development. It really isn't a few dlcs and patches off greatness.
I still theorise they are at least toying with the idea of doing something one day even if nothing in development right nowNo.
there is nothing in development atm.
@PDX_Gorion has been working on a patch that is in a beta right now, to fix some annoying bugs and supporting the modders, nothing else is happening.
I completely agree with trade, but also the micromanagement of cities and regions when you have a larger state. Sometimes I completely neglect some cities and regions, when I play tall, because it's so easy to forget about all the areas you control.I remember Johan posted that he wanted to overhaul the trade system (which, in my opinion, is the only system in the game that could really use an overhaul). If anything, I'd guess that would be the content of a new expansion. Johan also said he didn't want to bloat the game by adding more mechanics, and content packs are being made by modders, so trade system is really one of the few things left that only Pdx could overhaul. That, and expanding character interactions to make them more interesting and significant, but I think that's a lot more work and less likely.
True, I just thought of a mechanic that could use a COMPLETE overhaul worthy of an expansion. I think some management improvements, as well as cultural and religious touch-ups, could be kept in just a patch (given that the game was in active development, though it isn't)I completely agree with trade, but also the micromanagement of cities and regions when you have a larger state. Is it possible to make levy penalty moddable? One can dream, but as Johan wrote, there are no plans at the moment, besides my idea of fixing a bunch of bugs and make the game more moddable
