You get attacked by a progenitor golem on turn one and when you kill it it instantly responds with an even stronger army. This is impossible

I had some trouble with it, but eventually you will get stronger than its army. Group 3 armies together.

I guess this map is suppose to have a bit higher difficulty level. You're surrounded by strong Infestations which are very aggresive towards you from the earliest stages of game (I suggest cleaning at least a few quickly) + said Golem regulary attacks you. If you pick Reaver (which most players will as it is new and shiny) you will additionally be attacked by agressive Free Cities xD It's good to go Chaos route as you can pick the Call of Chaos skill. I got a very early Ironclad and Phoenix later on which add a lot to your army power, also Reavers "Subdue" ability is handy to grab some more troops if you have the resources. I also grabbed the new "Living Furnace" (or what's it called) unit from an Infestation which is suprisingly good for such a straightforward charger (especially with the new Tomes). Protip: Magic origin units seems to cost Mana to buyout instead of Spoils. I also think picking a Dragon Lord gives you some additional firepower to even the odds (although if you're going Commonwealth route it's a bit harder to Ally with its hero, as they don't like "Serpents" xD).

Hi AnarchyBurger! Sorry, there is indeed a bug I introduced when doing fixes for the related "Prometheus Avenged" achievement with hotfix. This makes it so the Golem spawns much more often on "hard" difficulty than intended (not affecting games started before the hotfix patch). This will be fixed with the next patch we drop.

On "normal" and "easy" difficulties this is still working correctly.

Yeah, that bird thing is unrelenting on hard. (I leveled my hero to 10 just on those fights). Also good thing to know Krazura trials give you a feather that you can show to make that thing stop attacking.

But atm it can be summarized as "It's a new day people!" quote from Edge of Tomorrow.
Recruit. Kill. Die. Repeat. every turn. xD

You sure that achievement works? I replayed the map to get the achievement (normal difficulty) and i'm pretty sure I killed the bird more than 5 times, but the achievement didn't pop.

Alright, so the respawn problem (on hard) should be fixed with today's Golem 1.2 update. :)

About the achievement, if you are sure enough you killed it 5+ times, please file a bug report and drop a save game. It should work correctly (since after 1.1 update) though.

Thanks Wyrd Deofol, for backing me up, but it could still be that the achievement is broken under some specific circumstances, even when it worked for you (this was originally the case btw and what _should_ have been corrected with the hotfix). I am not saying that I believe it is still broken, just that on a general basis it can't be ruled out that it _might_ be broken (under certain conditions), even when it works for you :)

Achievement didn't pop in my 2nd run. I did the quests to ally the bird people and kept picking the "bring it on" option instead of using the feather to cancel the spawn. I played until turn 120 and the bird golem must have spawned at least 5 times in that time. Probably more like 8 times. Can't say for sure how many times i killed it since I didn't actually keep track.

Anyway, i'll probably replay it once more after I unlocked the other new achievements. If I run into problems, i'll create a proper Bug report with the save file.

Thanks for inquiring on this further MK1980 and sorry for the inconvenience caused by this. The achievement was in fact still broken in specifically the case of completing the Krazura Trials and then not showing the feather. We will fix this in our next patch, though the fix will not retroactively apply to games where that quest was already completed.

So in order to get the achievement you should either wait with completing that quest until you got it (and killed the golem 5x therefore) or wait for the next patch to start a new run of the mission.

Thanks for the Feedback! I probably won't get around to playing in the next few days. Will wait for the next Patch before going after that achievement again.

I have the achievement
It's still bugged for me. I am currently on turn 55. I killed the golem... I don't even know how many times at this point. More than 10? I don't have the achievement.

Krazura Trials? I never even got that quest, whatever it is. I was playing a Reaver Dragon and got distracted by every neutral and free city declaring war on me the moment they saw me. So I basically spent 55 turns cleaning the map until I could actually start working on the quests. All of that time, killing the golem again and again but the achievement never popped.

I do not know if you are playing an evil Dark culture or something so everyone hates you, but naturally, I would imagine you cannot do the Krazura trials if you conquer rather than cooperate with them. The nearest Krazura to the north mad4e peace, and then ushered me into their trail system after I met the Krazura player. The krazura city to the south early declared war, but another krazura city negotiated peace between us before I ever made my way down to them.. I never had to fight much of anyone besides the golem and the brigands/monsters. After you complete the trails and kill it, it stops spawning.

I am a Good Dragon Reaver with Felines as my appearance. I know that sounds weird but that's exactly why I chose it. I had already played bird people the previous game on the ash map where all the dragons are at war (I forget the name).

Anyway, I NEVER declared war on anyone and picked all the options that was basically me ass-kissing everyone I met. Nonetheless, each faction has a -800 opinion of me automatically because "Invaded Manuhari." When I first encountered the Krazura they ranted about me being an "evil foreign sky lizard" or something. Didn't keep a save of that turn when I met him, but here is this unforgivable grievance he has against me the moment I meet him despite me being friendly. Screenshot:

So they are just racist. I didn't do anything evil.

The free cities that attacked me were all evil... so I guess I just had bad RNG on the map spawn and promptly annexed them. Which ironically made everyone like me more because "Empires with multiple races." But any bonuses to opinion don't matter because of that arbitrary -800 opinion from "Invaded Manuhari."

I'd have to play it again. I've already done it once. Suffice to say, I doubt you can do the trial system if you simply conquer them instead of make peace.
Nor do I believe that is a requirement to conquer the free cities if they declare war. Perhaps it would take longer if they start evil, but free cities will typically ultimately make peace. I imagine they would also do so if you bargained with them. It might be more difficult, and evil alignment for them should perhaps be disabled, but I doubt it's otherwise broken.

To my recollection, you barter with the nearest ruler. I don't think it even requires the southern city in my game to have made peace.

I think the quest should have triggered the first time you met them (AI Krazura player) same as quest Cage of Binding for Commonwealth Remnants.
This is the quest:

Mb it can be different for dragons 'cause World Wyrm (or whatever it is called) and all.

Oh, it was no biggy. I just annexed the free cities. Then force-vassalized the Krazura after they inevitably declared war on me. Also strangely, force-vassalizing the Krazura does not count as allying them, despite they are my allies by definition, at least according to the diplomacy screen. The fact the game does not consider them my allies despite me force-vassalizing them means I cannot complete the main quest at all because the quest says for me to "Ally or Defeat the Krazura;" apparently vassalizing them counts as neither?!

So I'm not complaining about it being hard. I'm complaining that none of the achievements are working and the main quest itself seems to be completely bugged if you are playing a Reaver Dragon. At least that's what I'm guessing is happening.
