I think the quest should have triggered the first time you met them (AI Krazura player) same as quest Cage of Binding for Commonwealth Remnants.
This is the quest:

Mb it can be different for dragons 'cause World Wyrm (or whatever it is called) and all.
Yeah, the cage of binding quest popped up correctly, but the Krazura quest did not. This is what my screen looks like in the quests menu. (Notice I've vassalized the Krazura and yet the 'ally Krazura' has not been checked off either. This is 1 turn after I did that too so it should have updated.)

So this map has more than one bug going on (it seems). I know the achivement bug was addressed in the patch yesterday but I've not seen anything about the Krazura quest not even firing like it's supposed to.

Thanks for inquiring on this further MK1980 and sorry for the inconvenience caused by this. The achievement was in fact still broken in specifically the case of completing the Krazura Trials and then not showing the feather. We will fix this in our next patch, though the fix will not retroactively apply to games where that quest was already completed.

So in order to get the achievement you should either wait with completing that quest until you got it (and killed the golem 5x therefore) or wait for the next patch to start a new run of the mission.
I want to comment that I continued my current save (the one that was started in the old patch) and the achievement fired corrently! Yay! So people who had an old save should be able to get the Prometheus Avenged achievement if they pick up where they left off and kill the golem again.

... Unfortunately I'm still dealing with the Krazura Trials quest not firing for me... And vassalizing the Krazura doesn't count as defeating or allying them... But I am really happy to have gotten the achivement. Thank you guys for fixing that!

So I'm not complaining about it being hard. I'm complaining that none of the achievements are working and the main quest itself seems to be completely bugged if you are playing a Reaver Dragon. At least that's what I'm guessing is happening.
No, they achievements themselves likely were not working at the time, which I pay no attention to, but I doubt there is any bug with the krazura trial system. If you conquer them, you probably can't do it.

I don't know why you keep repeating that. Are you trolling? I didn't conquer them. When I met them they had a bunch of dialogue options and I picked the only non-hostile option I had. All other dialogue options led to immediate war. You can see I am literally at peace with them in the screenshot after I met them.

Play it yourself as a Reaver Dragon and see or don't and stop repeating the exact same thing without having done it yourself.

Yeah mighty weird. You say you vassalized the Krazura, what do you mean (like conquered them)?
If last part is correct then probably game got confused 'cause technically you didn't defeat (in game terms that's kill) or ally them. (imo an oversight 'cause vassalizing should count for defeated in Manuhari Besieged)

If you have the time you should probably report it as a bug.

When you are at war with an empire, it is possible to negotiate with them if you have been at war for 10 turns. If the AI is losing hard enough - and if they don't specifically have the "arrogant" personality trait or an equivalent - then you can demand that they become your vassal.

When an AI becomes your vassal, they are supposed to give you all treaty benefits of an ally, but they also pay you tribute similar to a free city vassal.

(Edit: I misunderstood your question.) Yes, I used war to vassalize them.

I'll look into reporting it though I have a feeling it will not be looked into since I had mods during the save and I have a bad experience with devs dismissing any bug reports made with a modded save.

So I investigated this whole thing way more than I should have. I really don't have time to be doing this stuff but here I am anyway.

So, no, Blanch Warren, vassalizing has absolutely nothing to do with me not getting the quest because I went way back to one of my save files after I already annexed a free city who attacked me and redid the meeting with the Krazura. This time I got the quest despite making the exact same choices I did the first time. (Which are really only 1 possible choice if you look at the dialogue below.)

These are EXACTLY the same choices I made the first time around. But the first time I didn't get this "wait for Krazura Contact" quest.

Which means it isn't because I am a Dragon or Reaver. I can only figure now it is because I triggered meeting the Krazura on my turn. While the first time I played it I wasn't seeking them out, so the Krazura found me on their turn and I had everything pop up on their turn.

I've made a bug report of all of this, but I am having trouble replicating it. So if anyone in the future comes across this bug, add it to my bug report or this thread. I still don't really know what triggered things to not fire correctly.

Good to see you get this quest working. On the issue of reporting bugs imo just report and move on: if devs manage to fix then it is great for everyone, if they don't then "too bad, so sad" but you did your part at that point.

Blanch Warren said:
so you can conquer or vassalize the free cities? Before doing the quest
Definitely yes when it comes to vassalizing free cities.

I can confirm that the achievement now works properly in the situation we discussed. I just got it after i replayed the map one more time and killed the golem 5 times (with the special case of completing the Krazura Trials and then not showing the feather that previously didn't work)

thanks for fixing it, good job :)
