Do I read it correctly? There was an update promised on release, years passed and it is still being said that it will be released soon? I took some interest in the game when it released but the whole situation left me completely confused

As promised, I got you an update . There will be a press release tomorrow with details about the DLC including release date and as soon as it's published I'll make sure to share it here as well. As for the release date itself.... well.... you'll be happy, I promise you that .

The big question now is - is Paradox just checking a box to dismiss an annoying thorn or is this areal update with meaningful and fun content. Im willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it is the latter - and I really hope it is. I have some fun hours put into this game and it is worth updating - continuing to develop even (which I know is highly unlikely after this update).
Either way, next week will show us if Paradox is truly committed to making fun content/making their players happy (again, high hopes this isnt just checking a box for them).
I want so badly to become that free intern that will make this game great but alas most probably after the update it will be officially over

It's actually good. Im impressed and very happy with the new content. Still not thrilled it took so long.
Hoping we get more for this title but know it's unlikely.
A huge thank you to @TinyWiking for (likely) skating really close to the line of what he was allowed to tell us the past few years. It was a frustrating time but definitely appreciate what you were able to do.
