things to know

In this AAR I will check if minting is worth it. I noticed in my other AAR, that minting gives me some advantages. And here, I want to check if minting will stay useful after some years.

Normal game, just patch 1.21

Reason for Japan

- playing with any country in Europa will be to easy after a while (even on VH)
- I wanted to try navy
- Ming is way to easy
- Japan is much more safe from Ming

You might be asking, how can minting be useful. For those who understand Purchasing power, it can be useful.

Purchasing power?

Yes. It is pretty easy. Take the % increase in money + base (100%), divide it by % increase of inflation + 100%. Add 100 to the answer, then divide it by 100. Multiply that with what your could buy. And you know what you can buy now. If you subtract that with 1 and then multiply it with 100. Then you see the % change. That is the % increase (or decrease, if it is negative).

You might be asking. The monthly income will stay the same, so you can eventually buy less. True, but the money you gain should be putted in increasing the monthly income by any means.

This game is all about being fast. As inflation will slow tech down. Meaning that I must be large enough to be successful as a 0 land tech country.

Let's start min.. emm

Minting can't be done from the start. As I don't want to be in a -3 stability and get to -2 in 2337. These things are needs to be done to prevent that:

- Deus vult
- getting +3 stability

only then I can start minting to see if minting will be useful.

Let's start

my sliders were good enough. So I went to the treasury, and putted all in government tech.

1 month after the start, Korea suddenly attacked me (they probably think that zerg rush will be useful here too. Might be a fun AAR, the Korean zerg rush  )

I don't know how this AI works. But it can't possibly think that it can win against the navy of Japan

My navy stayed at 19. Any privateer Korea send, is easily taken down. I even managed to capture a pirate ship

Japan seemed better at rushing

Korea was target number 1 anyway. So this is what they get:

I'm very curios about the outcome of minting. So I'll leave the 2 other AAR's for now

still time without minting

I guess that BB wars will come soon enough. So let's see how minting will work there. So far, the deus vult has been reached.

At least I have a better monarch then the 3/3/3 at start now.

Then. A war with Manchu, and it's ally. Korea. Even without minting. Japan seems almost unstoppable.

As I said before, speed is needed. This is mainly a race against Ming it seems.
I went on with Lan Xang and his vassal. May the result be clear. It was 1 straight line. Which I own now

Be interesting to see what you find in your play. In my Project: Ming game, I have a 27% inflation (I used minting to be able to develop although it probably hurt my tech development - granted I made a lot of progress).

I did the same thing - took Korea first. Took Deus Vult :)

Anyway, good luck and I'm going to be curious to see how your game unfolds.

Nice start. Japan is a lot of fun because you can quickly overrun a lot of weak mainland countries and then have some huge and exciting wars against Ming (or ally with them and conquer everything to the right of the Turks like I did :D)

Hmmm, this looks interesting. Even without the minting experiment it would be good given your aggressive gameplay.

I mostly play aggresive because I must. But aggresive play is the best of you want to survive with any nation. Maybe I should try this with Magna Mundi too.
