I've seen @Matthias Corvinus (great name btw!) writing about fixes all throughout the thread (see post #14,498 on this page, 2 posts above yours!) and I'm sure he's been doing it since February, but the latest link on the front page has no hotfix and is last updated in Feb.
The team was hoping to get a modest update out this summer/fall but I don't have an ETA.
Is there any chance of a China rework for this DH version? not exactly the on HOI 4 but something better than the AOG?
China is ongoing; I've been working through the new tags and creating new team, minister & leader files for them and fully overhauling existing tags too. I've backported some to the old China setup so the next update won't have the real political/event China rework, but will have updated teams/leaders/ministers for AOG/Guangxi Republic, Yunnan, and Fengtian. Ma Clique and Legation Cities already have those updated. TBH, I didn't expect even this portion to be so much work and I tend to go far beyond what KR4 adds in numbers of leaders/political figures.

New England keeps having weird events that don't have anything to do with my decisions as Canada and don't seem to actually do anything.

I think that event (99879) is from an unfinished event chain that isn't supposed to randomly fire, and it shares text strings with the event above it. Seems safe to comment it out.
Yea, it doesn't actually impact gameplay so it's a minor point.

One thing I'd like to see are more Poland-style claim silesia events once Berlin falls for other powers such as Russia to stake claims on the eastern puppets. It seems a little odd that Russia wouldn't exploit a German collapse to grab those territories and let the Commune take them even if they don't have an eastern direction.

I've just had Texas rebel against Mexico but they seem to be remaining Syndicalist. Is that intentional? I can see quite a few events in the file but nothing seems to be firing. I am wondering if I should enter a code to get things rolling or if it's purposely been disabled for whatever reason.

I've already fixed it for next version, but the issue is the independence event for Texas (11800262) doesn't set any political sliders and so merely inherits from Mexico. If you have a save beforehand, you could add at the top of the event:

command = { type = set_domestic which = democratic value = 5 }
command = { type = set_domestic which = political_left value = 3 }

Why does the small and very isolated island of Pago Pago (a bit north-east of New Zealand controled by the Americans at the start) have 1 VP? I was playing a game and trying to annex the pacific states but they had inherited Hawaii and got this lame island 8000km away and it's a victory point.

Reading about the island I can see the strategic importance of it but it is annoying to have to take it to annex the pacific states, maybe the pacific states have a surrender event I don't remember.

Going by the placement in the vp file, it looks like an error and should be Bermuda (1773) instead of the 1733 it is right now.

Something is definitely wrong in Russian foreign policy (issue in italics):
- Russia chose to expand into Caucasus, Germany said no, Russia chose Far East (shoudn't rather go into Central Asia?)
- defeated and puppeted Mongolia, then went into war with Japan
- Fengtien capitulated, Russia puppeted them, which ceased war with Japan, but simultaneously didn't free Taiwan and Korea (which were Japanese puppet at this time)
- for some reason, Japan is still at war with puppet Mongolia
- after that, Russia just sits and does nothing

EDIT: Another playthrough as Qing and one issue emerged: Russia got civil war, Transamur claimed Far East, later Japan chose to conquer Russian stuff, but doesn't do anything for some reason.

Perhaps, this is the same issue I have reported at #14.797. If Russia was controlled by AI, just make AI's chance to select "We must abandon this direction. For now.." to zero.
Also, it seems even after correcting the event, the event chain still has an issue sometimes when Russia conquered Vladivostok, where the next target (lol) event doesn't fire.

Yeah, I commented that option out as other choices for expansion are in the same event. Really, all this mess is good reason to simplify the number of flags used and turn each expansion route into a decision, which I'd do right now if I weren't so busy.

What event choices as Japan do you choose to start war with Dutch Indonesia? I've gone the colonial route but only ever gotten events for Hawaii and nothing else happens.

It looks like choosing "We must focus on the weaker powers in the region" in the colonial expansion path is supposed to have events dealing with DEI, but the only significant Dutch-Japanese event (for Germany) only triggers if those two are at war. Feels like there are missing events.

That may be the case, if so that route is pretty lackluster right now, invading the east indies as Japan is one of the funniest parts of regular hoi2/DH.
