I removed action_b as preventing the crusaders from looting Bagdad would have been as impossible as it would have been too stop them from looting Constantinople after the Fourth Crusade.

Everbody is intrested in looting Baghdad lately ;)

I still wonder why that event can only trigger in 1492...

Glitch, intentional?

Not sure, but I have been reworking the file and it can now trigger at any time.

I don't agree with removing option B. Players need to be able to make choices, and one cannot say that such destruction would have been 'inevitable'. It has an 8% chance of not happening with the ai, pretty fair, I'd say.

I added more to the impact, including a loss of more pop and the COT.

I also already removed the Troops for the KoJ events. Check out the new stuff in 6.17, out in about an hour.

Well. Say that the fields ain't good in 1434. Should we player suddnly get to CHOOSE whetever the fields sucked or not?

Good.

Excellent!

Whatever. I want to get the monarchnumbers on the kings of Jerusalem right, so I want to know; Would anyone complain if I do a new monarchlist from scratch after the success of the Third Crusade?

Either way, I did it. Adopt it if you want or throw it in the trash bin if you want.

I must protest, since when did conquest of a region warrent it's loss of 'importance' as a trade center? Also, I think it could easily be abused by players - that is to say, in my opinion at least. I fear players will make it a priority to capture Baghdad (Ill-Khans) or Crusaders.....

dunno really, seems somewhat unfair to me. Perhaps a better simulation is that IF IRAQ is owned by Jeruslem, it loses it's cot.

Agreed. I do, howeve, think more people should be killed.

Hmmm. Interesting, because youn praised the Il-Khanate event and it had the loss of the CoT.

These events represent the destruction of the city, it's looting and pillaging. It's a pretty dramatic and traumatic event. Infrastructure gone, investor confidence destroyed, the administrators of trade killed off or exiled.

Remember that ONLY Jerusalem and the Il-Khanate have these events. It's not something a player of Armenia can do. These two countries are the 'long-time foes' of the Caliphate, and it's a scenario that we have built together. I don't think its far-fetched or unfair. However, I DO think that we need to have an event that allows for Baghdad to be rebuilt if destroyed and which would eventually become a CoT again. We'd have to do it this way, because Baghdad is not in Europe, and the game stupidly allows only for countries with European capitals to get new CoTs.

Maybe have the event that triggers for the Caliphate be a prerequisite for a random event for them, titled something like 'rebuilding Baghdad' which gives the CoT, and maybe some BTV, back in exchange for some money?

Would you guys mind awfully if I gave Cyprus to Knights Templar?

Say that the Third Crusade was successfull. Then Richard Lionheart would have been much more eager to reinstall his favorite Guy as king instead of Conrad.

When he took Cyprus from Isaac Komnenos, he sold it to Knigts Templar. They became very inpopular with the orthodox population. So, when Guy was denied the throne and Conrad took it, Knights Templar gave it to Guy. But what if Guy became king, as he would have been, logically. Then they would most likely still have been in position of Cyprus.

So, I think we should give Cyprus to Knights Templar.

Well putting it that way, it makes sense.

I have also some plans for the Knights Templar. Also, Cyrus is where the KoJ current flee to if Jerusalem is captured.

I'd like you and I to work on a plan for the Templars. Have a read of the Templar event in the KoJ with the new text.

I thought that we could have a weak monarch in about 1430s that precipitated the Templars 'taking over' the administration of the realm or imposing themselves on it significantly.

Not that the Cyrus idea isn't a good one. Maybe that's what could happen as a result of the tussle between the king and the Templars. Either they take control of the Kingdom, or else they are given Cyrus (or retreat their and capture it?)

What about inheriting Knights Templar if they loses Jerusalem and move to Cyprus. No B choice, no acceptation from Knights Templar, just BANG! Then there would be some actual point beside roleplaying in defending Jerusalem as Knights Templar. Also I'm afraid I can't read it until Thursday, and on Friday evening I depart for Italy where I'll stay in 1.5-2.0 weeks.

Otherwise that's a pretty good idea.

I added the atwar = no, as _no one_ would be mad enough to burn the leaders of the Templars on the stacke during war. I also added that the leaders aren't at your side as it would be ugly if you burn the Grand Master and he still fight for you. I also removed command to sleep the various sackings as I can't see why Knights Templar would be essential for sacking some cities. I can understand the idea of having the opportunity of not being catholic as the KoJ, but a non-catholic Knights Templar is just too ridiciolous.

In this one, I removed the sleepevent commands. After all, a city can be sacked regardless of whetever Knights Templar is present in their army?

First, a drop in MIL as the khalif shows that he can't defend the people against the crusaders. Second, -2 fortress instead of -1. Why should the drop be lesser than that in Cairo and Alexandria when it's a far bigger attack? And it's -2 in Il-Khanate version too.
