Chapter IX: To Nanjing!
This is the northern front as of 25th March. Some more divisions were trapped.
However, being happy with that would be a mistake! Again, local numerical superiority is our friend.
On 18th April, the battles of Khalkhin Gol began and ended on 2nd May.
Push is also being made near Zhengzhou.
Jinan is attacked on 9th June and falls a week later.
Meanwhile tough fights take place near Nanjing.
An important technological advance is made on 28th July.
Lianyungang is taken at the beginning of September, meaning PRC now has an access to the sea.
The Second World War has begun on 4th September, though we couldn’t care less about Europe being so far from it and having our hands full with the civil war anyway!
Many battles had been fought since 1927.
On 12th September, Soviet Union decides to step in and get their share of Poland. Allies do nothing about it, as they cannot take on both Soviets and Germans.
On 16th September, Nanjing is attacked, but the attack is called off soon, as it isn’t feasible to attack under such odds!
Yixing needs to be taken in order to encircle Nanjing.

However, to no avail, as the encirclement lasts for almost two weeks now.
To Chiang Kai-Shek’s great surprise, communists have proven to be a fair opponent and gave him an escape route from Nanjing.
Because the city’s garrison is severely weakened, the fighting in Nanjing takes only two days and not even being as bloody as expected at first. The city itself is taken on 22th October and the Nationalist government has moved to Shanghai.

Chapter X: The Betrayal
While nations in Europe were busy forming alliances, we were busy pushing towards Shanghai.
I put 11 (current maximum) AST brigades into production. I’m also building some IC, as it is always handy.
A pocket is being formed, which will in the end trap 8 Nationalist divisions in Beihai.
Germany decided to give the whole eastern Poland to Soviets, meaning Lithuania is still in their sphere of influence.
A great offensive is mounted towards Yixing in order to definitely push the Nationalists from the outskirts of Nanjing.
Guangxi and Yunnan Clique together with Xinjiang are approached by Nationalists’ diplomats in order to convince them to join their course. However, southern warlords decide to stay neutral, whereas Sheng Shicai, member of Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the ruler of Xinjiang, decided to give us his full support against Nanjing’s government, mainly due to strong ideological similarity. This meant six militia and three infantry joined our ranks, together with all Xinjiang’s military leaders.
But the biggest threat still remained; namely Shanxi. And these worries emerged to be true as Yan Xishan, the ruler of Shanxi, decided to support Chiang Kai-Shek’s war effort. This equaled a declaration of war towards our republic.
Emergency measures were taken immediately. All available troops were to be redeployed to Shanxi’s border, no matter what they were doing at the moment.
Completely taken by surprise and having all troops on the front, PLA’s High Command staff could do little to deter 12th Infantry Division from entering the current PRC’s capital.
And on 9th January, Yan’an has fallen to enemy hands.

Oh well, I can call this a tutorial for the Chinese theatre at best. I'm willingly ignoring that Germany has gone quite wild, as nobody in 40-50s China gives a duck and the government doesn't want the people to know about such evil things such as democracy or fascism anyway
Chapter XI: Never Surrender!
Probably the worst place for capital ever. Supplies now plow through occupied level 2 infra provinces.
But six divisions were already closing in on Yan’an and the three fastest reached it as soon as February began.
And here’s the map of whole China for the given time period.
What was worse was that Nationalists were attacking using my common supply shortages. Nanjing therefore had to be abandoned.
Nine days later from the liberation of Yan’an, two cavalry divisions attack Taiyuan to repay the favor.
While Yan’an might have been liberated, the supply routes are severed once again, while Nationalists raid standing supply depots. The situation soon gets critical, as many units already ran into supply problems when Yan’an was lost to Shanxi at first.
It takes another nine days to defeat Taiyuan’s garrison from the start of the attack.
What’s even worse is that pockets are split into smaller ones. Exactly this happens to the east from Shanxi warlord state.
On 7th March, cavalry division under the lead of major general Kulov enters the second important town of Shanxi. The annexation takes effect the next day, meaning some of the troops in Shandong and Hebei are once again linked to supply!
As units change sides, they are quickly sent to harass the enemy in Hebei.
While the north might have been relieved, more terrible news was incoming. It was discovered that troops to the south are encircled, without them having the means to free themselves in meaningful time.
Therefore, a simple plan has been drawn up to free our comrades.
And all of a sudden the Nationalists have the initiative. Quite a dramatic turnaround! Did your capital remain at Ürümqi by the way because in some circumstances I think I've seen the game move them back?

Actually, Japanese threat on me will skyrocket. I they have about 15 points of threat on me as you can see on the map, however I don't share a true land border with them yet. It's quite interesting they had higher threat on me without border than on Nationalists with border
