Novgorod had an eventful 10 years.
While Pereslavyl was invading the muslims in the south, the free city of Tver was being squeezed by the prince to pay for his aggressive wars. His cousin Boris of the great trading state of Novgorod lamented the destruction of the renowned Tver merchant houses. So when the residents of the city took up arms, Novgorod could do nothing but come to her sister city's aid and free them from Pereslavyl. Cut off from the trade generated through Tver, Pereslavyl would come to realize to late the benefits the merchants had provided as a lack of funds caused a collapse of their armies allowing the muslims of Qarakhnid to annex their capital.
Plunged into deficits from their brief war Novgorod stepped up the pressure on the King of Denmark who had 10 years earlier blocked Novgorodian trade out of the baltic on trumped of charges. The fur trade that passes through Novgorod and on into the baltic had slowed to a trickle, and even the King of Scotland was lamenting the lack of his luxurious furs. The people of Denmark however were being harmed by the halt in trade, and began to rise up calling for Boris prince of Novgorod to come to their aid. The standard of living in Novgorod was envied by all. Finally after the last slap in the face by the King of Denmark, Novgorod was forced to act rolling over their few loyalist defenders and claiming the title of King to the enjoyment of the masses. Unfortunately Prince Boris succumbed to the wounds he had received in battle and the title of King fell to his heir. The prince now King assured the people of their prosperity and made note that his claim was not strong and that he served the will of the people.
Recognizing the new king, Hungary pledged an alliance which was quickly consumated when war broke out with the King's upstart cousin the prince of Crimea. The brief war resulted in the transfer of Moscow to the King of Denmark, who quickly forgot the baltic trade war and began realizing the dream of uniting Rus.
