[Mod edit: Please stay respectful and please mind your language]

ps. because sldf tech started to reappear by 3039 doesn't means that is new tech , it's old tech.

Yes, is old tech - but not available in 3025 [Mod edit: Please stay respectful.]

Um, do you only have 6GB of ram?
I have 12GB of ram... not as much as I'd like, but good enough for every other game I've played.

But even if you have 6GB of ram, you won't have nearly that available for running games.

I have 12GB, and even if I close EVERYTHING else, this game *WILL* creep up to 10GB and make my system start paging to disk, which even on SSD is damned slow in comparison. Even if I had 64GB of ram, I have zero doubt that this game would max that out as well. That is what memory leaks are, they have no limit.

But none of that matters, 4GB of RAM for this game is WAY more than it should need. It starts up with <2gb in use, and then the memory leak creeps it up much higher.

Games like War Thunder have far better graphics, far more players, far more vehicles, far bigger maps, far better terrain, etc, etc.... and they use less than 2GB.

Soooo..... its a bug, that was not addressed, therefore I won't be playing the game again until it is.

I have 12GB ram too, and have no memory leak at all.

If you have an issue with a game, that most others does not have, that means its not a bug in the game.

Greetings MechWarriors!

Please remember to stay respectful even while disagreeing, and to post topically and not at other posters.

Some posts failing this have been removed, others edited to reduce friction. Moving forward, posts that cause unnecessary friction may without further warning suffer JumpDrive failure and end up in the Far Country to be used as nesting material for the locals.

Thank you, and carry on.

quick question, while most other weapons ( i think all of them???) had a reduction in there heat generation how come medium lasers got an increase in heat generation?

I would imagine for balance reasons. The ML is, and always has been, the most effective weapon ton-for-ton in the BattleTech universe. It can take a small heat increase and still hold that position.

The ERPPC should be roughly 50 damage and 45 heat if it matches its TT equivalent. Perhaps (i don't know) it was close enough to those stats already so they left it alone?
If it hasn't changed in 1.1 it's 50 damage for 50 heat, so yeah, that's probably close enough.

Deleting Saved games seems to be quicker now, but the focus now goes back to the first save in the list, really slowing things down. The ability to externally edit this list, type in titles for saves, delete multiple saves at once, etc. would be greatly appreciated. All in all a great update, though.

My weapon question about the patch is this: When you use Large or Medium Pulse lasers, do they counter the targets movement or not?

There is no mention of it in the patch notes that I can see. But those weapons historically (read: in TT) remove -2 to one's hit modifier, and are generally used to hit speedy targets.

I understand that currently one uses LPLs only in the Escape from Witch Mountain mission, but I'm curious about the game mechanics for the LPL.

The optimization boost is substantial. The game's loading much, much faster than before.

"Fast combat" took a few minutes to get used to. The slow speed looks better, but fast battle certainly helps keep things moving.

Did the vision and sensor distance adjustment settings get removed from the constants json? I can't find them any more.

All lasers get a 1 point accuracy bonus. Pulse lasers get a 2 point bonus instead. Personally I would consider increasing that, but there is very limited access to pulse lasers in this game, so I don't think it is a big deal.

My steam account is NOT downloading the update. any suggestions?

Same thing happened to me. This fixed it:

  • Go to game properties in Steam
  • Click Local Files tab
  • Click Browse Local Files
  • Delete a file in here (I deleted the Battletech.exe file)
  • Go back to Steam and Verify Integrity of Game Files
  • It will detect the missing file and attempt to re-download, and that will trigger the bigger patch download

So... no-one can or will answer my question? I only wanted to know so that I knew whether or not to make a bug report.
