I can hear @Juodas Varnas weeping from here.

Why would anyone use light mechs in random missions? So far from all the streamers' plays, there's zero reason to take a spider if you have a medium/heavy mech available. In what scenario would a player be better off with 4 mixed weight class than 4 assaults?

You're too late, Q&A is over. They probably wouldn't have answered it anyway, they stayed away from complicated / controversial topics.

They did affirm, again, that the build that we see the streamers playing, including sidestrafe, is a "very old" build. Based on that we should reserve judgement on difficulty, AI performance and balance until release day when we have a chance to see and try the real game.

Okay, but what is the point of a Q&A then?

Pure publicity stunts, as always. That's what they exist for, and being informative is often a side-benefit.

Fixed :p

Agree with the general reception. I usually try to steer clear of posting negative sentiments around here but... that was very disappointing. So much time on a few rambling questions that have been answered in FAQs dating back to the original KS... so little attention to some of the great questions in this thread.

Ah well, guess it's a wait until the 24th to see just how current the streamers' build is.

I am a long time lurker on the forums, and after the 'filler piece' of a Q&A session I was disappointed enough to create an account to express it.

Most of the discussion was fine if it wasn't already old info and not in the time slot where we get REAL info on the game.

They didn't detail any mechanic or topic of substance related to gameplay. Rambling questions and answers, stream started late and ended early. 1/10

I agree, but perhaps so close to the release they have no such time to read the forum and CKnoor seemed to have chosen only a few to ask to them.
So... we have to wait for the 24th to have answer by ourselves...

I skipped a lot of questions that had already been answered on the forums, and I skipped some that were based on bad intel. I tried to stay away from easy yes/no questions since they don't do much for discussion. I also skipped some that I knew wouldn't have an answer.

As you noticed, some questions had been answered by Kickstarter FAQ. But as you should know our streams reach a wider audience than just backers, and that's why some asked questions got asked even if they had been answered elsewhere.

Some "easy yes/no questions" are of great interest to the community though :)

Eg: Are the store prices we see placeholders or working as intended? Is the way salvage works currently bugged in the streamers build? Is a different difficulty mode still on the table for post-release?
