I guess I'll be the first to complain about the two-province Korea.

But then again, your scale is kinda' small, so there might not be place for any more provinces.

Oceania islands

Apart from Australia, New Zealand and New Guinea,
other provs in Oceania will be:
- Rabaul (Bismarck archipelago) around 40000kmq;
- Salomone with 28000 kmq;
- Fiji with 18200 kmq;
- Samoa with 3200 kmq;
- Hawaii with 28300 kmq;
- Tahiti (Polynesie) with 4100 kmq;
- Vanuatu with 12200 kmq;
- New Caledonia with 18500 kmq.
Other areas are sincerely too small for the map.

yup, sweden finished
Denmark half done!

Why is Sweden weird Walter Model?

Is it Tiohärad you don't like?

It looks nice IMO.
But I would have Västmanland/Dalarna as Copper - the copper mine in Falun produced 2/3 of the world production by itself in the 17th century.

Also, I'd have Uppland as iron (the iron mine in Sandviken hasn't been shut down yet), and Värmland and Tiohärad as naval supplies or something else, Sweden should produce much timber.
It appears most of the iron in Småland actually came from Taberg in the province of Östergötland.

Also, I believe Stockholm should be in the Uppland province. Now, the city does stretch into both Uppland and Sörmland, but generally when people speak of Stockholm, it is associated with Uppland, at least today.
Also, for much of the time period, the city would have been confined to a couple of islands, mostly in Uppland (though it did start expanding southwards in the 1600s), and Uppland is much more urbanized in the time period, with cities such as Uppsala, then Sörmland, which was more farmland and forests.

Believe me, it's the only way to include every land at the right distance and to contrast the distorsions between continents.
I'm already moving provs from single continents to that background and I'll edit pictures of single areas ;) , adding 20-25 provs every day started changing its look (saving provs IDs with fewer sea zones).
Feel free to draw an area to fill the background till editing of my relative picture of that area.

The map is coming along nicely, but I'm wondering about the fish in Sörmland... :)
Wouldn't grain or navs also fit? I don't have time to look it up right now though.

Grain would be best. It used to be one of the most agricultural areas of Sweden.

Thought so, it was the first thing I changed, way back... :)

I couldn't (and can't, for that matter) understand why vanilla Svealand is fish, especially since that province also includes Östergötland, which is another main grain producing area. And I fail to understand what fish would be caught in the archipelago, since all fish living in such an area are tiny...

Great to see that changed!

I agree. It's quite absurd really. The archipelago was also at that time basically an unsettled wasteland.

Maybe Paradox has a thing for sill? =)

@Krantz:
I keep on adding provs on world map,
take care about european provs seeing edited pictures.
Europe is small as it's on Earth ...
I'll send You the world picture by e-mail tomorrow.
Remember to make grids upon it
(6 vertical columns and 3 horizontal raws to have 18 squared blocks)
so You can save single block as area.

Thx to everyone for supporting posts,
but pls don't limit them to scandinavian provs.

Nice to see you again!

Can't before i have your map and have talked to you on msn or icq.

You have sent it to me 16 June!
But I did not like the size of Europe!

Isn't Tunisie a French name? Shouldn't it be an Arabic name instead? Also, Krete is English, no? =)

As for the whole general composition of the area, Cyrenaica could be a little less inland, and mor concentraed on the coast, as most settlements in the area was concentrated along the coast. Some of the southern area of that province could be given to the Fezzan province instead.

:nods:

I think it should be Tunus. Tripolitania should also be Tarabulus
