Yeah it would be so cool if people will stop using lobbys and only use quick play for 2v2+ games. But nope.

It would be nice if more people would just use quickplay. I feel like Eugen should support it a bit more.

I think one of the things people fear about Quickplay is firstly how long it sometimes takes to get a game, and secondly how random it can be in terms of quality of opponents. I played 2v2 Quickplay last night and ended up against @a.Lennart and @ZhukoDim and guess what, got completely wrecked! Not that I'm complaining, I'll take the time to look at the replay and learn from my mistakes, and learn from the good play of my opponents. But wouldn't it be lovely if there was a matchmaker that would try to pit players against others of roughly equal ability? That way there would be more incentive to go into Quickplay rather than the custom lobby.

If you've played long enough to class yourself as a veteran player, you should know most of the others...so host private games. That means that 'new players' won't have to interrupt your privileged perception of the player base.

Yours is not a particularly helpful attitude in a game that needs to draw more players in.

its the job of the developer if they want a bigger playerbase. its also the job of the developer to create basic mechanics that allow fair games. These mechanics literally exist in every game on the fucking market. and there are reasons for it...

Why don't you add some good players to play with (and against) to your friend list? That's a good idea if you want even games.

Its not an online dating here. but if i want to play a match and dont want to wait in a 15 min queue for an unbalanced 1vs1 i play lobbys. but thats even worse. it should be possible to go into a queue and get matched with an even opponent. if nobody is available i dont wanna dragged into a match at all. In every game u play with a rank system you would never find a match if nobody on your rank is available atm. Except SD ofc, you play against lv2 beginner all the time.

Yes i can add people and play with them. How many do i need to find a lets say 2vs2? 4 people online at the same time and not in a match? ok good joke... so i need like 100 "friends" to make that happen.

Meh...you missed the point...the point being that the game needs more players, but there won't be more players when new or inexperienced players are being sledged or put down.

Maybe you should shelve the entitlement complex.

Yeah that's nice in a while but I just plain and simple don't want to play them as I get stomped. It's not even interesting and I'm losing interest in the game which is a shame. Even with my terrible record I stomp newish players and probably they are lost to the game too. To endless get recycled around the top players as a bit of easy meat is no fun after a few games.

Improve rank play Eugen. I just don't want to play against these players or would like to choose when I do. If i come against them may just make a cup of tea so I can at least waste their time.

Most of them leave before phase B actually. Which always leads me to ask myself how will they be able to improve their game if they never play the three phases...

Sounds like you've accepted to be a noob all your life. Between being stomped and loose to better than you there is a gap and in this gap you've ways to improve your game and have fun with it.

i just looked at my stats.

I have played 725 matches

308 of them are 1vs1 ranks.

i played 1 match so far that was truly awesome. Why you guys ask yourself ? Well it was

1. balanced.
2. you couldnt tell who will win until the last second.
3. very hard to play agains this guy ( now he made it into the top 10)
4. i won it with a "special" tactic.

1 match out of 725 that was actually worht thinking back to. bad record. so i ahve palyed 724 matches that are just

1.unbalanced
2 you could tell who will win from the start
3. very easy to play or impossible (1vs1 balance in general)
4. winning or loosing by doing notihing that would have chanced the outcome.

Thaanks! Let me continue like this. Its so fun. I only have to play 725 matches to find a good game again...

And all other U˙gen games .Imagine you wouldnt get paired up,you would stop playing the game for good,thats the thing with not enough active ranked players and "the cure" for it..

I play Fifa online 1vs1,2vs2 ranked since years and in the morning there are sometimes only 100-200ish players online but still i find a game in 1-2 min against my rank or 1-2 leagues higher or lower,why ?Because they are all there to play ranked,in SD and all other U˙gen games there can be 500 player online and literally handful of players that plays ranked and ofc you will get paired up with anyone after some time,better then stoping the game for good in devs opinion.

Try to use the chat to arrange matches with higher ranked players or something,also use the Mute button to recognize noobs and players you dont wanna play with/against,just Mute them and follow their name changes in the mute list and kick them from your next lobbys.

I'm for league tables and table resets perhaps every 2 months to allow people who no longer play to drop off - this in itself will reinvigorate the arena. I'm for some kind of promotion and relegation system. I'm for competitive play. I'm all for competitive play. I'm for expanding the multi player user base rather than it being monopolised by a few with too much time on their hands. I'm for increasing the success of what is a good game, Eugen seeing this and then them investing in improving it.

Where is the enjoyment from the winner if there is a mismatch? I'd say their joy comes in an easy stat, the clawing up the ladder, and that's pretty sad.

I rarely know which division I'm up against which has the best infantry. Or their phase A composition if I haven't played that unit for a while. Like I said, I have a life. I don't have time to know these things. And you know what, many will fall into this category.

Plus I enjoy playing with different divisions as they do feel different and there's always going to be a gap due to this.

But you and your ilk can ask who is right? Is it you and your narrow worldview or me, backed up by the fact that so few play multi despite their being 4300+ in the leaderboard? Why am I meeting zhuko twice in a night out of a leaderboard of 4300+?

I have a feeling that, ironically, the 'community members' that the devs have apparently utilised for advice/balancing probably come from the leaderboard group you highlight.

There's no problem with that, if there is an overall community preference for ranked play...which pretty much isn't the case at the moment with the game, I'd suggest.

If the devs are being advised by this group who don't want ranked play then they are getting a very skewed view. I suspect that they look at the wider picture though, or think how can they keep people playing multi. It's not this small community that runs the commercials.

Actually no but it comes from someone who clearly has improved his own game just playing and testing. And not bitching overall. I do not play ranked myself, i do'nt care and 1vs1 is not my stuff, i'm more a team player (and i like very much 10vs10 for this kind of help and support needed).
I don't pretend to be top notch and i have not that goal, but seriously this game is not about shortcuts and crazy fast handling, you improve your game pretty simple by your placements, your tactics, the cards you bring and soon you're in the 50-60% ratio. Then if you improve a bit, you start to be 70% then 80%.
I'm surely not against better matchmakers, except maybe one here and there i've heard everyone asking for them actually. I've not done a lot of ranked play but did myself play a top10 in one of my first ranked games, i kow what it is.

But to hear you say you'll quit a game cause you don't want to play them as you get stomped is crappy thinking imo. It is really interesting to play better players than you. And you never really salty when you're fair outmatched. When you're in trouble in 2vs1 and got crappy teammates unable to help, be salty all your want.
It's like you feel sorry you're not good enough and don't wana be beaten. If you don't wanna be easy meat against top players, just improve your game or start accept it it cause you'll always have better than you.

Profiles "no" if it means you can back out of a game.

Matchmaking... the answer must be yes. It must be an option. But Eugen would need to split the leaderboard into groups so when you rank it's against those in your group.

There is no normal distribution curve of ability in the ranked games. My view is that enhancements to ranked should do a better job of matching people. Quick play should allow anyone to face anyone.

What I will take from your comments is that i should just go in the lobbies for 1 v 1 but I don't like that you have to select a map. The random factor is something I enjoy and making the division you've chosen do the best job it can.

Let the self satisfied boys with too much time on their hands wave their willies at each other.

The fact is there arn't four thousands guys playing on evenings, around 80-100 games only are being played simultaneously european time and all of them are not ranked. You couldn't meet enough guys on subdivided ranked brackets anyway. That's why you meet zhukodim twice on the same evening probably.
Rank play and quick play are two different modes cause in one you chill, in the second you want to compete. Like you have amateur and pro in sport. And you're free to play the way you want.

Honestly yeah one of the big problems is that it's difficult to find an even game and I don't think it's right to be dismissive of that.
