For people who've made their maps from scratch - how did you go about making the provinces? I'm bogged down drawing them one by one, each province individually, and it's hard to conform them to the topography.

I already have the topology set up as a mask =__=
It's hardly visible, and the only way to make it actually visible is to make the provinces hardly visible.
Aye I did. I think the basic set up is correct in a kinda sorta way, but the launcher refuses to acknowledge the folders existance.
EDIT: Also is it possible to resize the maps, the provinces one especially, without doing so introducing a ton pixel errors?
Ah I meant in terms of <insert number> x <insert number>. Like the vanilla maps 2048x2048(or so I think it was...).
That was meant to the guy answering me about the map size, not your reply. Yours already told me what I needed on it's own(and it worked! plus allowed me find a stray pixel I'd failed to notice).not that simple^^

Aye it would. Or a map editor that allows you to check out the map as it'd look like ingame directly without needing to boot up CK2.ok. but a magical global resize ratio should be nice indeed.
Also when resizing downwards, what things would have to be removed/altered? Lakes and the like I assume? Well and borders would need adjustment of course.
I'm currently using a topology that basically consists of just two levels, below and above sea, for testing purpouses. Didn't think it'd be much of a point in making an elaborate one until I had something that was actually usable.sea (and by extension lakes) and landmass can be kept. rivers have to be removed.
most other map layers can support pretty resizing. only topology can be more tricky, creating more or less glitches on coastlines.
