Shouldn't the map filler do all that? Or do I have to do something manually?
Unless he updated it to fix that, then no, you need to go into the default file add the sea zones and ocean regions yourself. In the sea zone enter your first sea province ID and then your last sea provonce ID. Then in ocean region enter the number 1 if you have only one sea zone. Look in the vanilla file to see how it's done.

Edit: I was ninjad...

I think the problem was that you had one giant non-wasteland province that included lots of islands

Also your rivers (light blue on the rivers map) were marked as ocean on the terrain map!?

Is there something wrong in having one pixel wide seas? There are still some islands separated from others by one pisel of sea...

Map modding is a mystery, man

I wished the logs were more informative about crashes. My bias towards rivers being the culprit early on was because it was the only thing reported in the logs.

Now, if someone could help me with this, I'd be sooooo thankful! It keeps crashing at "Loading graphics" and I don't know where I should continue to search.

I get these errors in the graphics log:
[eu3graphicalmap.cpp:2158]: Invalid port location for province 1, center at 210,69, port location at 215.000000, 64.000000
[eu3graphicalmap.cpp:2158]: Invalid port location for province 3, center at 489,414, port location at 494.000000, 409.000000

Where can I fix this?

Here is the whole mod:

(The name DSA Mod is just a placeholder, because of the project that is the reason I want to learn how to mod CK2)

It's just a small map I made for experimenting.

What tools can I use to make my greyscale topology map "blurry" like in the game file?

One technique I have been using with moderate success is just scaling it down and then scaling it back again. You may have to save in between though, that depends on how your image editor works.

It's BMP. For some reason, it's black and white. I'm not sure why.

It suggests to save it in PNG when you go to save, it has to be saved as a BMP there. I just did it myself on a random map. Open the a heightmap in Wilbur, Texture, Other Maps, Normal Map, 4 vertical scale. Then, File, Save As, change Filetype to BMP and save.

That is a problem caused by your sea provinces. As far as I know you must have at least one sea province connected to a land province. It should also be correctly defined in it's own sea zone and ocean region.

what Europe/CK2 example of a province would this be? Byzantine? Copenhagen? OR do I have this twisted slightly. On pretty much the same stage now.

It still seems to be black and white. This is quite perplexing. The map looks just like yours in the window, but when I open it elsewhere...

A question on merging a map mod (SWMH) with an events-and-building mod (Magnate Lords). Somewhat surprisingly, the two mods aren't that incompatible, with a dependency for "Magnate Lords" inserted into the SWMH .mod file it all loads up fine with some minor issues. You get the beautiful SWMH map and Magnate Lord buildings and events.

Except that the beautiful subtle SWMH borders and rivers revert to the hideous vanilla ones. What the heck? Magnate Lords doesn't change the /map subfolder at all, so I don't see how SWMH's /maps/terrain files are conflicting.

Any help? In case it isn't obvious, I'm pretty noobish with modding. I can tweak .txt files like the best of them, but map modding remains a complete mystery.

I keep crashing at "Creating Trees" when trying to load my custom map. Can't seem to find anything wrong with my trees.bmp, anybody got any tips on how I could figure out whats wrong?

You're probably crashing to what comes just after "Creating Trees", usually you don't crash on what you see, but rather, you crash as it tries to begin loading the next part of the game.

Uh, SWMH doesn't change the borders, NBRT+ does.

The distance between the position of the troops and the terrian of the provinces.

You could have two huge provinces next to each other, but if the troop position is at the borders for both of them it'll be quick moving between them. Terrain speed modifier is found in terrain.txt.
