Ok, then I will use four Id's for the rivers each with the name of the major lake.

Thus the map now looks something like this:'

Thanks, that looks good.

The River Kokemäki (Kumoälv) begins from the big T or Y shaped lake just above where you have put the river's beginning in eastern Satakunda.

The river does not form the border between the provinces of Finland and Satakunda, though: the border runs quite a bit farther south. But I guess that's just as well. :) It does leave one of the oldest cities, Rauma, outside of the province Satakuna, where it actually belongs.

The Kymmeneälv/River Kymijoki is fine, forming the border between Nyland and Viborg.

You might consider adding River Tana/Tenojoki that forms part of the natural border between Finnish Lapland and Finnmark. I'm not entirely sure about the run of the river in Finnmark.... you could just draw it along the Finnish border all the way down to the bend where Finnmark reaches furthers south, as one of Tana's tributaries forms that part of the border.

Another river that might be considered is the River Paatsjoki, that runs from the Lake Inari/Enare/Anar to Varanger Fjord, forming the natural border between Russia/Novgorod and Norway. I'm not sure how important the River Paatsjoki was during the EU2 period, though, as it is very big river. But as I said, it forms the natural border between Kola and Finnmark where the Russo-Norwegian border is even today.

Except that it's called Pasvikelva (Pasvik river) and not Paatsjoki :p

Another thing with this map, Agder should NOT have ALL of Rogaland, just the southern parts, including the Stavanger area..

Well, it's Paatsjoki when it leaves the Lake Inari/Enare/Anar. You *could* call it Báhcevæidædno or Bahceveadji, though, to be totally PC.
I'm just pulling your leg. Báhcevæidædno, when did this become Sámi Universalis?

Are you sure about that? On my maps, it looks like it runs from a smaller lake just east of lake Näsi. I could change it since it would have no effect on the map

Yeah, I know, but If it is to have any effect that can't be helped.

This river would have no effect what so ever, so I'm leaving it out.

Well a russian-Norweigian war was never fought that I know of, which doesn't mean that it wouldn't happen in EU2. In that case a river would mean greater casualties for the agressor. Something which sounds right to me. I think I'm convincing myself that I should add it.

Because Jæren and the Stavanger area has historically been ruled with Agder, and Haugaland has historically been ruled from Bjørgvin/Bergen. The fjord between Stavanger and Haugaland made it much more convinient to split it like that.

Modern day borders and historical borders does NOT have to be the same.

I know, but I have to work with what I've got.

That's a good point, I will change it.

this is somewhat off topic, but I need this info for my own map;

are there anyone that knows about some table of the largest lakes in Iceland, Sweden, Finland and Denmark?

For Sweden and Finland I'm only interested in the 15 largest, or all lakes above 350 km2 (whichever has the fewest lakes).
For Denmark and Iceland, the 5-10 largest will do..

Links, statistics, tables, whatever.. I eat it all! :)

I'm quite curious as to how you would manage to put in lakes in Denmark as the two largest Julsø and Mossø would only be a few pixels.

But anyhow you can always use kraks map and just zoom in untill you can see the name of the lake.

And a map of Iceland:

Yes, the river runs from the Lake Pyhäjärvi, but Pyhäjärvi and Lake Näsijärvi are connected, so the water route does actually begin from the Lake Näsijärvi.

Well, seeing how there's been discussion on other threads about how the entire Kola peninsula should maybe be made PTI (perish the thought!!) on the grounds that it would be nearly impossible for an invading army to march through it to Finnmark, a river there would be quite in the right spot in game, even if the river in itself in real life wasn't much of an obstacle.

In my complete remake Denmark (Jylland, Fyn and Sjælland) is 1140 x 1400 px. Norway and Sweden combined is 4500 x 7000 px. Get the picture? :p

Vänern 5648 km^2
Vättern 1912 km^2
Mälaren 1140 km^2
Hjälmaren 478 km^2
Storsjön 464 km^2
Torneträsk 330 km^2
