Bugs about American events are a known issue, created by the 1.01b update. (A dastardly plot by Steele :) ) Russia dropping out of the alliance is also known, and should be corrected (as with all known issues) in the next version.

The lone German one is new (or at least I have not heard of it), two ways I can see to correct it would be to put an infrastructure of 33/34 in Douala, or make it a home territory of Germany (if a province is a home territory then the level of infra shouldn't matter, at least that is the way I understand it.).

The problem of the airforce could be due to research times being to short, and possibly build times for airplanes. I believe StephenT or Steele is looking into that.

We appreciate your help and our glad you like it so far.

Hasn't it happened to anyone else?

It basically says that it can't find an excel file and asks if I want to Ignore, Abort, Retry. It says it again then says the game has an error then I just have to cancel. When I try overwriting HoI the game locks up and I have to restart the computer completely.

I'd really like to know whats going on... Is there any other Time Patcher I can download?

Thanks,
Richmond

The No Time Limit Patch supplied with the mod was an adapted version specifically to suit 1914-24; there is an earlier version around somewhere that's more general in nature. You'd need to search the forum for it (it wasn't written for The Great War).

As for the problem not finding an Excel file - weird. Presumably this is referring to one of the .csv files in the mod. Are you sure that:
You started with a clean installation of the program - no altered or missing files.
You have installed the 1.01b version of the mod, which corrects several of the critical start-up errors.
You have a TGW directory within the Hearts of Iron directory, and this contains various sub-directories including the file TGW\config\text.csv.
The shortcut you are using to run the program says exactly this in the "Target" box of its properties, including spaces and inverted commas:
"C:\Program Files\Paradox Entertainment\Hearts of Iron\HoI.exe" TGW
(If you have Hearts of Iron installed somewhere else, such as a \Strategy First\ directory, change the path as appropriate)

That works for me...

There already is one set up, in germany.inc:
Code:
convoy = {
        id = { type = 22112 id = 3 }
        transports = 20
        escorts  = 0
        path = { 588 597 592 475 476 477 474 473 962 1014 453 455 464 463 1055 1123 1118
        }
        supplies = yes
        rubber = no
        oil = no
        steel = no
        coal = no
    }
Province 1118 is Yaoundé. Presumably the problem is simply that the infrastructure is too low and there's no direct path to the capital.

On the other hand, how long did the German garrison in Kamerun last in reality before it surrendered? Perhaps this effect is quite historical :)

The Allied forces managed to complete the conquest of Kamerun by January 1917 - by then of course, the only resistance was coming from a few colonial policeman armed with bamboo....

Yeah pretty sure

The only difference is I installed to my D: drive. Clean install no nothing from HoI basic, then Patch 1.05c, then TGW. Patched the Exe, then made the shortcut.

I'm grabbing the former No Time Limit Patch now and will test it with TGW when I get home :)

Can't wait!

Convoys dont make a diff in this case.

They can be supplied but still suffer from attrition due to the 19 infra.

This is ahistorical - although they didnt stand a chance vs British troops, suggesting that German troops NOT under attack from anyone would die of starvation DESPITE being supplied daily by copious amounts of resources is just silly.

Douala and Yaounde should be propped up to 34 infra. Same goes for coastal provinces of SudwestAfrika and Togoland. If German soldiers were really starving to death in their colonial outposts before the outbreak of war I think the colonies would have been depopulated very soon unless they were willing to send more attrition-fodder on a daily basis.

Has anyone discovered how to get a modified province.cscv file into the game yet?
On a more historical note, is it not the case that a lot of these colonial garrisons did have to be regularly reinforced from home, because the troops kept on coming down with horrible tropical diseases and had to be invalided out of the service?

Tropical disease ok but certainly not at the rate of attrition HOI is displaying -one has to press the reinforce button every few days.

I think the constant reinforcing is already adequately modelled by the fact that convoys are needed, no need to drain manpower for this as the manpower drain must have been negligible in real life.

In other words, mod-dir doesn't actually work, and the only way to install this mod properly is to create a separate installation and overwrite the standard HoI files?

It would seem that it works, but provinces are treated as an integral part of the actual game that shouldn't be changed. Even if ones mod demands it.

The seperate installation is the most assured way of getting everything working without hassle, but it will be unpopular amongst those who like to save hard disk space.

Maybe we can find someone that can create some sort of batch file/script/whatever that executes this sequence before running HOI with TGW:

1 - copy province.csv to hoi_province.csv;
2 - copy tgw_province.csv to province.csv.

And then, after the game ends, sets everything straight again. That would preserve the installation and keep things simple for people running the mod.

Do you know anyone who can create this?
