Yup like vicky 2 Pride of nations hearts of iron 3 pirates of black cove supreme ruler ethier one,the list can go if you wish. :)

I've never played pride of nations or pirates, but I have heard that pride of nations is a very good game, and Hearts of iron 3 is. It was buggy at release, but with the patches it was good. The expansions made it even better.

I've spent a lot of money on Paradox titles, but this really leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I haven't even bought SotS2 -- I can only imagine how those who actually buy the game feel.

My main 'bad taste in mouth' feeling comes from the fact that the pre-orders and buyers until december were offered the DLCs as a sort of consolation. That seemed fine, until we saw incredibly reduced prices (what was it? 7-8£?) near Christmas for games that also included all the DLCs. Talk about being given a *heavily accented* "special price for you my friend."

@s1234567890m No your funny because you are the troll coming on a complaint thread complaining about people complaining. There are plenty of other threads for paradox fanboy trolls such as yourself. Mega Burn!!! (trolls hate fire, and opinions that differ from their own). :)Real great name by the way real generic and troll like bud. By the way I hate the term troll, It labels peeps and attempts to discredit anyone with a different opinion. I like the 90's flamer seemed to carry more weight than troll. :) Gen-X for the win. ;)

THats a big problem and no official has commented this so far so i think PI has to put up with the accusation of cheating the customers which was to be read througout the forum quite often now.
So true my friend but what can we do? I know not preorder these games anymore no more money for them until they actually complete the game first or at least make a whole hearted attempt not unfinished trash. :)

Then why did you make that comment then if your uneducated on the issues at hand? Everyone can call me a troll all they want I am a frustrated paying consumer is what I should be called if anything at all by the fanboys on here. No respect given to fellow consumers but they sure love this entity known as paradox. And they can have it. :)I wonder if they get paid to troll complaining customers or are they just developers and staff hiding behind fake accounts or worse they really have no life what-so-ever and just love paradox so much they would slander other consumers.Hmmmm.Eithier way they are lame and i'm still pissed this garbage dont work properly.

So one of the games I have heard many people saying has elements they want into Victoria 2, and one game that I have played? You made an example of three games, only one of which was made by the internal teams, and which was released 2 1/2 years ago. Their newer(internal) releases have been good, with only minimal bugs, and you arent factoring in how complex the games are compared to their budget. All the expansions, Victoria 2, Sengoku, and CKII looks like they will be very smooth, bug free releases.

Victoria 2 expansion will be smooth because a house divided wil fix hopefully what a new patch should be fixing instead they add a few features and sell it as dlc when the base game is still broken economy and pops wise. So hopefully the new patch/dlc ;) will be smooth. But I agree with you on your point because I am a avid lover/player of europa 3(chronicles) for at least 5 years to present. This is the game that made me want to buy games from paradox initially now it seems my investments into their games are just adding to some downward slide/spiral into the quality of the games it seems they are taking to much on and releasing half finished products when they should soley put the effort forth into finishing fewer games completely instead of rushing crap out the door trying to make due dates or financial reasons etc. And be open and honest to your customers not just cater to your "fanbase" and vice-versa.

I was saying Victoria 2 is a good base game. Played a few full games with 1.2, I didn't notice any big problems. The only major issues I had were with the historical parts, expecially Britain gaining lots of territory from China. There is nothing broken about the economy or pop types.

Furthermore, anyone calling other users "trolls" note, that it is as much against forum rules as is the actual act of trolling.

In my understanding its the publisher thats discussed here for their decisions on SOTS2. When discussing a publisher shouldnt examples of other games be consulted?

I only want to remember you of the fact, that it was Castellon who took a stand to the very much aspect you just forbid to discus.

AI needs a ton of work. Its dumber then bricks. Its not challenging, it fights stupidly, it manages its economy so badly that unless you fight an enemy before they go bankrupt, it is the only challenging part of the game. Its not too hard to take planets when the AI never has a defense fleet up. Its more like the only time it is challenging is when there happens to be a fleet in the system, but it just happned to be passing through the same time you attacked it. It never uses defense platforms. It rarely builds bases and freighters. It never raids. It never forms alliances that are actual working alliances. When you form an alliance with a computer player it is like having a girlfriend that just lays there and does nothing during sex, and doesn't respond when you tell her to liven up. Computer players never turn down any demands. You can even demand cash from them after they are out of the game and they will give you the maximum amount. Every time. 25 million a pop.

if you want to question a mod do it in a PM.... its in the rules
You sure must want a mod badge yourself eh? Or the brown noser of they year award. ;) Hey can I ask you something?....were you also your school hall monitor? Or is it just that you like the being a elitist and a big feeling pricX(sic) on the internet fuzzy feeling inside? I'm sure mr.mod can take care of he/she own self.Lame bud very lame. :/ I think there's a cat in a tree somewhere that needs some saving superman.

That was not a nice post, personal attacks are not allowed.

[post by Anguille which he has since deleted]
Posting in colour text could be considered an attempt to impersonate forum staff. My suggestion is to stay away from it, especially as that is what you were complaining about in the first place. I point out that your post again breaks rule #2 in that it comments on my decision to leave his post undeleted. I understand you are upset, but best to avoid these situations.

I have been watching the posts here to decide if I should purchase SOTS2. I love
the original and although this game is being rapidly patched (unlike some others! LOL!)
with no random maps and having to use the same ones over and over the game would
loose its appeal very quickly. I guess sadly i will hold off until i hear better news on
updates on SOTS for the maps.

To be fair, the game is advancing and there are quite a bit of indicators that Kerb will indeed keep advancing the game post their own 'all clear' message. So do come back once in a while and check up on it, but I must admit that right now I will not advice anyone to pick it up.
In any case, this thread will most likely never be a very positive place for those seeking to buy it. There will always be complaints, and I do expect most of them to be honest and even reasonable. But in the end even most stuff won't look very good if you pool all the complaints but don't look at the positives or the balanced outlooks.

Good plan. Check back in a year or so...
