I've read them yesterday on steam, and waited a day (if it would get edited but it didn't) so i assume it's official minimum system requirements

From steam store:
MINIMUM:
......
Graphics: nVIDIA GeForce GTX 260, 512 MB / ATI Radeon HD 5670, 512 MB
DirectX: Version 11
......

I've quoted only the graphic card and dx version from the system requirements, to avoid confusion.

I've got nVidia Geforce gtx 260+ card with 896 mb, that can support up to dx 10.

I would assume that i would be able to play this game.
But minimum. sys. requirements also says that the graphics card also has to support dx 11, which leaves me wondering:

Is nvidia GTX 260, with support up to dx 10 going to be able to play the game, or not?

Developers, please fix this confusion, it makes no sense and it makes you look extremely unprofessional, i'm really sorry, please, no offense, but this is my opinion.

Geforce GTX has neither only 512mb ram, as you've said, neither supports dx11, so what is it going to be, devs?

I'm no expert in the subject matter, but I know enough to see the problem now that you've pointed it out. I'm passing this on to the appropriate people to get clarification and/or correction. Thanks!

I don't see problem here.
You need at least this graphics card, and you must have installed DX11 in your system.
That does not mean, that card must support all dx11 functions, but probably DX 11 has some functionalities not releated to graphics card, just to DX itself.
And that is, why you can't install game on Vista, because Vista does not support DX 11.

If it says you need DX11, you most likely will need a DX11 card..

I only say this because Tropico 5, when released, matched my laptops min spec (I was going on holiday and wanted to play while away - my desktop is too big to take with me!) yet it only has a DX10 card while Tropic stated DX11 is required.. As a result, I could "run" the game, but the graphics were glitchy as hell and it was unplayable - you couldn't even see anything on the screen for all the weird shapes and colours.

To be honest, in 2015 you really should have a DX11 card by now. The first ones came out in 2009 and they have now been consigned to the dustbin of time - the first ones by Nvidia were the GT300 series and they only sell the 600 series and upwards now.

You can pick up a budget DX11 card (say an Nvidia GT750 series - http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/nvidiageforcegraphicscards/nvidiagtx750series/) for less than £90 - although I always recomend spending as much as you possibly can on the graphics card. I couldn't recommend it more, the bells and whistles of DX11 is pretty awesome and you are holding back Civilisation as well! :p

DX11 software is useless without a card that can support it.

Yes you need a DX 11 card but theres DX 12 coming out in Q4 2015 so better buy then a DX 12 card

but then i would have to wait a year just to buy a dx12 card and also play C:SL, which is not ideal for me... what does dx12 do anyway?

I wouldn't tell him to wait for then, a DX11 card is perfectly adequate. As we saw with DX11 all those years ago, until there is mass adoption, Dev's will always make games that can be played by the largest group of people, which at the moment and for a few years yet will be DX11. For example, I like to think I have a pretty decent rig and I am a fully paid up member of the Master Race but I only upgraded my graphics card last year (from a 560Ti OC to a 780 OC) so won't be doing so again for a little while yet.

Yeah, don't worry about it, you don't need a DX12 card at all and won't for a long while. That said, you can pick up a GTX 960 for less than £160 which will not only last you a few years and is decent bang for buck but it can also run DX12 when it comes out.

As for "what it does", it's basically just the next level in graphics software. For example, DX11 brought us tessellation and all sorts of fancy lighting effects over and above what DX9 did (there was a DX10 but it was more a fudge between 9 and 11 than a standalone)

No there always cards that will support Dx 12 even my 1 1/2 year old card will support Dx 12 also no wait, only buying the right card not one that maybee only support Dx 10, 11 but not 12 ;)

Indeed - for Nvidia any cards back to the 400 series will support it with a driver update. I was pointing out there is no need to tell him to wait, as you said "Yes you need a DX 11 card but theres DX 12 coming out in Q4 2015 so better buy then a DX 12 card"

thank you guys for all your awesome responses. I have decided, that it's time to upgrade my video card, so i decided, that i will buy ZOTAC GeForce GTX 750 1GB, GDDR5. It's the most, that i can afford right now :)

It might be worth comparing benchmarks of an "older" card to the 750 - it is really a low-mid range card. For example, you might get more "bang for buck" by buying a 680 Ti for example. For Nvidia, the "series" is the first number and the second number denotes it's position in the market, so a 750 > 730 but < 780 OC - as stated, a higher rated card from an older series might well outperform a newer but less "elite" card at the same price point.
