Don't forget to throw in some Scottish and Welsh names, otherwise you're just constructing an English name list.

Gallant Sir, I urge you to deal with the AI use of namelists by the plant aliens as soon as possible.
I've been using this avatar since I pre-ordered Stellaris, yes. I'll probably switch back to the CKII Welsh one in due course.
Instead of using "from" so much in the name-list, how about using something else instead? Say, 'y', e.g. Fibre y Cleyeole or Pea y Uplogos. If you wanted to be really flashy, you could even try some declension, such as Fibre y Cleyeole but Pea yr Uplogos, because "everyone knows" y mutates into yr in front of a vowel.
Alternatively, regarding the British name-list, you could always make a "Space British" list yourself.
@cybrxkhan Look forward to the Plant namelists, thank you. And I caught the "preserve" bit, so I take it the fleet is being led by a talking jar of jam?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the structure and sound of the last names are a reference to "Fungi from Yuggoth"? Even though the eponymous fungi are, er, fungoids.
Still, using 'from' so much won't leave mushroom for other things.![]()
@Karogas
@Arakhor
The creator of the British namelist mod has requested that I not integrate his namelist into my mod as it will be easier for him to maintain the namelist there. I will respect his wishes, of course, but so that your work doesn't go to waste, I recommend posting it in the British namelist mod's thread. I will probably put a link to his mod in my mod's description, though, figure it might be nice to show people other namelist mods out there. Are there any others you use of high quality that you think I should link to?
Also, Arakhor, did you always have that avatar since Stellaris came out?
I wanted to use an English word besides "of" for flavor/diversity so went with "from". Any other sugegstions for English words I could use besides "of"?
That's a shame. Might take awhile but I guess I'll just keep plugging away at making my own. Though like you said above will probably angle it towards a sort of colonial space British theme. Perhaps where the Empire never fell. Probably take awhile though. Off on holiday this week.
Not really, no. English/British surnames tend to be derived from physical descriptions, professions, locations, parentage and so on. I can't really help there.
The new Plantoid name lists are much appreciated, Khan of Cyberspace!
