There's a problem with some files in EPE, reported in the bug forum a while ago and in discord but no response. Delete arabic_qalansuwwa_caliph_early, fra_crown_of_louis_german_01a and all the zoroastrian_imperial_crown files in headgear of gfx. Then it will work

Has the Paradox Forum EPE mod been updated for 1.6.1.2? It still gives errors in my launcher
I tried that but my game is still crashing, any advice?

Ethnicities & Portraits Expanded\gfx\models\portraits\attachments\male_headgears\secular this is where i deleted the files from. The files I listed are in dde_abbasid; early_western; iranian. I literally went one by one to find out what file was causing the crash. So if this method doesn't work, maybe its different files or different reason why your version of EPE is crashing.

It seems to be a different reason, if its in the male_headgears\secular folder I am too dumb to find it.

EDIT: I simply installed 1.1.8 #6 locally and this appears to have fixed it.

(Haven't used EPE in a long time, so I cannot impute this issue to the latest version, but it's likely a fault of this mod, as I have tested it without any others enabled.)

Pretty much everyone outside of some major rulers of central Europe looks like this, and there are no ethnicites in the Ruler Designer:

Hi guys! To play one of my save I need to get access to the version of the mod from august probably for the 1.6.1.2... but I can't find their ParadoxPlaza page, and so I can't get the previous versions of the mod. Do someone has it?

Mine too and I don t know why.

Gosh... Para should really add an option to stop updating mods... I got back to my game to discover that most of Europe turned into elves :

The King of France
It becomes more and more difficult to play mods with the Steamworkshop. Is the only option is to install locally or play offline?

Still had a laugh to see Charles the Noldor :D

Hi

I'm a newbie to CK3 and their mods but I absolutely love them, and this mod is amazing! Thank you for all your hard work. I do have a question, it's probably me being dumb, but after installing the mod my current game saves and when I started a new game, virtually all the characters are wearing full helmets obsurcing their faces, including children and nothing I can go e.g. inviting them to court removes the full face helmets.
I went to game rules and disabled the full helmet option before starting my new game but this doesn't seem to have made any difference and all the characters are still in full helmets. I really love this mod and I'd love to be able to see the characters faces. Am I doing/selecting something wrong? Also I'm playing with the conversion mod Kingdom of Heaven so I don't know if that effects anything. Any help or advice would be really appreciated! Thanks :)

I know it is bothersome if you see a lot of comments that asks you some specific thing and while I understand it I still need to ask, when this mod will be updated to the latest paradox update? This mod is huge, also essential in most and in my playtest always and without it the characters looks goofy. I know it is complex and the game updated drastically with additional systems but I hope sooner or later an update comes to it. Thanks in advance and wish you great weekend.

Here's their announcement from Discord:
@everyone Hey guys, Uber here,

As everyone might know, Crusader Kings III: Tours and Tournaments has just released a bit ago; from the Steam Page, the Dev Diaries, Screenshots and Videos from Content Creators, and now with some of you in the game: You may know and see not only a ton of new 3D assets but that they have changed how portraits work. Some of this is regarding Paradox’s implementation of Era Transition *(replacing our version)* and the COA system, among many other things.

What this means, in short, is essentially that this update will likely break our mod entirely and make it incompatible with the new version of the game,

In doing so, the team is also looking into a fuller review of the state of the mod; by doing a deeper dive into what our mod is comprised of currently: The update will require us to make significant changes to our mod and some of the features and content we have created may not be included in the updated version, whether a mix of now redundant items introduced now by vanilla, specific texture changes vanilla now covers, behavioral changes or items of lower quality from initial versions of the mod.

With such astronomical changes to things such as the portrait modifier system, we also want to warn you that updating our mod may take longer than usual because we may need to rebuild EPE from scratch in portions, rescripting modifiers, assets and more to make it compatible with the new game mechanics and systems.

This is a huge undertaking that will require a lot of time and effort from our team, and we ask for your patience, and understanding as we work on this project.

We hope that you continue to support us with good vibes and that you will enjoy playing Crusader Kings III with or without our mod until we release the updated version. We will update you on our progress and let you know when the mod is ready for download. ♥️

Below is a guide if you must play with EPE on how to revert your game versions to 1.8.2:

I know I should not say that, but without the mod the game has some of the ugliest people I have ever seen. This mod have saved beauty and style in a game where they are currently lacking. Take your time, this mod is marvellous and deserve all our love and patience!

Is there any way to install the part of the mod that is responsible for the new clothes, haircuts and armor? The mod changes the DNA of the characters so that even the male characters eyes look painted that significantly changes their image and makes them more feminine. I think this is mostly because of the darker eyelashes compared to vanilla.

Also will be great to use expanded cultures and units expanded without using EPE as core. Anyway only the one reason for that is how EPE changes faces. There are a lot of cool features like red-headed irish. but the facial expressions are too innocuous compared to vanilla. the characters look benign 80 percent of the time not unlike the formidable evil feudal lords who are constantly at war with each other
