Any chances for a HIP compatibility patch.

Uhm, I am not familiar with HIP, but I guess it uses the same folder(structure) and same files I use.

Just open my mod and look into my files for "9999". Then find the corresponding lines/values whatever in the HIP mod and change them accordingly.

If HIP uses another structure, then you need to put some time in it.

Making my mod patch-compatible every time isn't a lot of work, 1 hr tops. But setting it up in the beginning, looking at all Interface files and searching for the relevant lines, was where the hard work was put in.

I won't enter the HIP-rabbithole, but you'll do just fine :D

Have you tried hiding opinions? Is that even possible?

Question is totally unrelated to this thread of course.

hmmm... i'd think yes. Haven't looked into it. But logic says the opinion values are fixed on the x-axis in fixed UI-items (if u catch my drift), but the main problem would be the tooltip. Problem, in the sense of finding the right lines.
On the other hand, could be very easy.
Let me sleep on it...

Splendid. If it works, there may be another game-changer on our hands.

I spent all weekend on this, but alas... just as I thought, the tooltip is the problem... I just can't get a way to hide the opinion-value, nor by removing it or by obscuring it

i tried fiddling with the fonts (opacity 0%), that did work to some extent, but it also obscured other useful info

I can hide the static opinion-boxes in the character box, but you can still see their opinion of you in the tooltip, if you move the cursor on their portrait

ideally I would like to hide the VALUE, but keep the reasons and color them red or green accordingly. I also posted on the Quick Answers-thread in the UserModifications section, but no response.

No dice for the moment... sorry.

The most promising solution then would be changing the red/green color of modifiers to black or something like that, but as you say, that would also obscure some other info.

Thanks for your work, anyway. Hope that solution will pop up in the future

I may be onto something... I've posted another question in the Quick Questions thread...

Look at these old postings in the Cheats thread >

Does anyone know if it is still compatible ?

Guess so. but I'm too lazy to check myself right now.

@Tazzoz21

Is of relevant ? :
excerpt form 2.6.2 Beta log
- Traits can now be hidden from others. Adding "hidden_from_others = yes" will make it invisible in all parts of the UI, except for the person with the trait
- Traits can now be hidden from everyone except those who have the trait. Adding "same_trait_visibility = yes" will make it invisible in all parts of the UI, except for players with the same trait

wow, thanks for the heads up!

to be honest, I didn't update it after Reapers Due, due to lazyness... The latest version did give a CTD, so AFAIK it isnt combatible at the moment

But eh, what do the lines mean? Where do you insert those lines?

(edit)

Hmmm... so PDX gives you the option to hide (some) TRAITS to (some) people... not the stats as far as I can see... can't really see the added value in that, looking from a RPG-POV. But maybe I'm misinterpreting the loglines

It might be still usefull. For example you know someone'habilities but not his personality. So you could be dealing with an ambitious deceitful master schemer oe with a humble content midas touched and don't wether someone is truatworthywithregarda to traits and such.

Also, hidden vampires in Elder Kings no longer require a fake trait to categorise them aeparatedly feom diaxovered vampires

Vampirism was seriously the first thing that came to my mind when I read those lines in the changelog

It would also have some potential to hide some traits that others couldn't possibly know just by looking at the person. For example, you could tell a person is gluttonous when you look at them because it's a physical trait, not so much that they're envious which is a personality trait.

Thought of this mod lately and would love an update, compatibility or more (like hiding traits or such as an option). :D

@Tazzoz21
Would that request be feasible ?

It sure would be, I'll see if I can start working on it within the next week. I'll keep u posted.

Good to see the love for this mod!

edit: in regard to hiding traits and so, I can look into it, but to be honest: wouldn't that be too much?

edit 2: I'll wait till the Jade Dragon update, 16th November right? Okay?

Is this Mod compatible? Say if I wanna use this Mod with Warhammer Geheimnisnacht, do I need to edit any file or just use it right away?

Only answer I can give is: try it and you will find out. The last update was compatible with 2.5.2, so adjust accordingly. Or wait till I've updated to the Jade Dragon patch

Regarding the traits suggestion, keeping hiding traits and attributes apart as two mods or seperate download versions would sure be preferable.
Agreed.
