Well, I have not been able to get this to work so I quess I ditch it and start from scratch with whole tenth century thing.
Good choice. Try to use the validator as you progress with the mod to fix any issues before they come a problem. >Just a tip. Although I don't think you need to redo everything from scratch.

Of course I use existing code for characters but I am bit more organized this time when it comes to character codes and new dynasties. I put the last version available here for such time that Tenthcentury gets done.

I removed landed_titles folder from MOD and the bug still persists when I try to run the bloody thing in the "start from scratch" version with just one new ruler. I am officially at my wits end here.

Ok, the issue might have been with some files being wrong coding format. Some people have tested this and said that it works now and I seem to get it work at least partially so I have uploaded v.1.3 to front page. Put any comments here.

I removed Qarmatians and Socotra republic from this version. I will return to these after Horse Lords is published.

And if you run into education bug, let me know.

Hello.

As I will be updating this when Horse Lords comes out, feel free to give any suggestions on who should be who's tributary in the beginning (I do have some plans) or if there are any particular changes you think are needed for it.

Vanilla CM has a lot of Abbasid vassals independent because they were pretty much autonomous. You could make them tributaries of the Abbasid Empire if you want.

Why would I update anything for CM? In this bookmark, Sultan of Egypt was technically Abbasid vassal but I don't think making him tributary is justified. Caliphate would soon become quite irrelevant after all and everything east of Baghdad was more or less independent. Perhaps I could make southern Mesopotamia and Hamdanids as tributaries though.

Validator reports several duplicate character IDs in version 1.3:
2001010040 is both an Ethiopian named Amare (902-962), and a Nubian named Aaron (900-960), and holds c_asosa, c_damot and d_damot. One should be renumbered, and the titles should be examined to see which of the two should hold what.
2001010204 has identical entries in both greek.txt and lombard.txt. Since he is listed as culturally Lombard, he should be removed from the Greek file.
191684 has identical sequential entries in gujurati.txt. One should be removed.
1004460030 has identical sequential entries in maghreb_arabic.txt. One should be removed.
Two brothers, Abul-Qasim (934-961) and Abul-Hasan (935-966) share ID 14403112. One should be renumbered.
2001010005 is both Abu'l-Ward (918-964) and Nasir al-Dawla (900-969), the employer of 159726 Abu-Hafs (all levantine arabs) and holder of c_aintab, c_amida, c_bira, c_edessa, c_kurdistan, c_mosul, c_nisibin, c_sinjar, c_tell_bashir, d_jazira and d_mosul. One needs to be renumbered, the titles sorted, and a decision made as to who employs Abu-Hafs.
14403106 is both a Persian (Anushirvan Sharaf, 1001-1050, father of 20703 Keikavus, 1021-1087) and a Turk (Muhammed Ibn Ilyas, 904-968) and holds c_hormuz, c_kerman, and d_kerman, all starting in 935. (Given the dates, presumably the Turk holds all of these.) One of the two should be renumbered, and either the son or the holdings adjusted to match.

Some of the below may be vanilla errors, I haven't cross-checked.
2001009000 (Bagrat, 897-940) has his father listed as 159217 (Atabeg, 1230-1310). Either the correct father should be linked, or the father line removed.
159851 (Hmayeak, 390-451) is listed as the son of 159841 (Hamazasp, 290-339). I'm guessing his father should be #159849 Hamazasp, 366-436.
41554 (Smbat, 933-998) is listed as the son of 159257 (Sahak, 845-930). Either link the right father, adjust dates, or delete the father line.
ID 200202, mother of 200203 Zahir and 73810 Muza, and spouse of 73809 Fortun, does not exist.
The death line for 2001010057 Tomas has a quote before yes, but not after. Either delete the quote, or add one after. The following character needs to have a quote added before his name. Also, the file has an extra closing bracket after the last character.

Dynasties 1042115-1042120 and 1042139 are referenced in bedouin_arabic.txt, but not defined.
Character 34014 has a claim on d_birjand (comment: Saffarids), which isn't defined in landed_titles.
Character 154001 has father defined as non-existent character 1534000; should probably be preceding character 154000.
Character 168362 has trait="temparate", should be "temperate"
Characters 188858, 188859 and 188860 are given both dynasty 1029157 and 1029152.
Character 159141 has a claim on d_bolghar, which isn't in landed_titles.
Character 160079 is assigned an employer in 857, 9 years before his birth. Same for older brother 160078.
Dynasties 9583 and 9585 are referenced in bulgarian.txt, but not defined.
Character 714 has trait="dilligent", should be "diligent"

It means there is no dynasty with that ID in the common/dynasties folder.
There are scads more character errors, many minor, probably most vanilla, some serious, most not - the vast majority of Validator reported errors were in character history.

investiture_law_1, ai_will_do section is missing a factor statement before the first modifier.
You don't have a succession_on_liege or other_succession_on_liege CB in your files, but the various faction ultimatums in faction_decisions.txt are trying to use those CBs.
20 - Gwent.txt has an extra closing bracket.
922 - Tadmekka.txt has an extraneous closing bracket after religion = sunni in the history.
c_farrah.txt has an extra closing bracket after the 906 date block
c_kemanshah.txt has an extra closing bracket after the 935 date block
c_luristan.txt has an extra closing bracket after the 935 date block
c_piombino.txt is missing a = after liege in the 926 date block
k_france.txt has an extra closing bracket after the 923 date block
c_blois.txt has a malformed date at the 935 date block (should be 935.1.1, not 935.1.)
Ditto for c_bourges.txt
The holder character at the 749 date block for c_damot.txt is not defined in character history.
In c_mandesh.txt, 1066 date block, the liege is a character ID rather than a title.
In c_orkney.txt, 867 date block, liege should be 0 rather than an empty string. Same for d_western_isles.txt at 855 and 762.
c_savoie.txt, 935 date block, k_burgundy is misspelled as k_burgyndy
c_siena.txt, there is a holder statement outside any date block (between the 934 and 1027 date blocks)
c_thomond.txt, 696 date block, there's a place holder x for holder ID (actual holder name is in comment, may or may not be in character history)
c_werle.txt, 935 date block, d_pommerania is misspelled as d_pomerania
d_livonia.txt, 867 date block, k_lithuania is misspelled as k_lithuiania

I look forward to trying this mod out as soon as the new dlc/patch is released and you make it compatible(I haven't played ckII in a while!).

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind: how are the normans in this start date? and the khazars? What are your plans now that the map has been expanded and that the new nomadic government form has been added?

Norman culture exists and Mr. Longsword rules Normandy. Khazars are relatively strong and will probably become stronger.

No particular plans. I add some tributaries and tweak things here and there.
