Was there some sort of change made to fertility, and the chance of having a female heir versus a male one? I just played through 50 years of history as a Julian Emperor in Constantinople, and said Emperor had nine daughters with four different wives. Not a single male heir was produced...

I guess this could have just been bad luck?

Bad luck. I didn't change anything on female chance. I have UPPED fertility for the next update. :)

Thanks for considering it. Your mod is really awesome - the concept is great and the game is so much more dynamic than others.
I have two more questions - is everything alright with child education events? I tend to get them very rarely, in several cases I got none. I've also seen AI not getting them (no traits on maturity except for education, bloodline and humours). Is it just bad luck?
And could you consider splitting Carthage into two duchies? Right now it's too easy to play as them, as you can change succession law to elective and simply choose the best relative to be your heir.

Hmmmmmm... I'll look into education events chance. I think that one of the mods I integrated also lowered the chance of those firing. I'll look into it.

Well I guess there's several places where you can do that gamey tactic. :( I might split it but then again, it can be done elsewhere as well, it's just a gamey tactic a player can abstain from imho. :(

Could you make it combatible with lux invicta,just like ck2+ has modules that you don't need to play with? :)
That must be the modder of Myth and magics job. His mod is way smaller than this and if he wants to he can have his mod compatible way easier than Shaytana the other way round.

:) Alright, I will just start a new game and hope for the best.

I will be changing some things for the next update for sure... my AAR is teaching me valuable first hand stuff... I am literally on the verge of utter annihilation atm lol.

That's the best way to play, full of terror and with your heart racing haha

Aye. Have you seen my last update? My only viable heir via my imbecile homosexual sister was born THE DAY BEFORE my childless king died... LITERALLY. It was sort of like an old school EVERQUEST 1 great escape moment in Lower Guk. (yeah I know that's Chinese for some - but fond memories for me lol)

I am going to up fertility though ( I have already) and I am also going to give some traits a bonus on health - craven and other traits will keep you alive - although they might not benefit you in other ways! ;) I will also make other changes I deem necessary as I play...well if my dynasty does not go extinct soon. :)

Brythonia, Arturus I, died of natural causes at age 70.
Queen Mother Satica, first (and only wife) of Arturus I, alive at 69.
Mada Pendragon, eldest daughter of Arturus, dead at age 29 of illness, no issue.
Her aged (and celibate) husband survived her, and died at age 80.
Queen Aytena, Arturus's second and last daughter, alive at age 39.
Aytena's first husband died at age 69 of natural causes.
Satica, Aytena's eldest daughter, and the only one by her first husband, died at age 20.
Satica's widower is still living, as is their 1 year old daughter, Godgifu of Chester.
Princess Umaxa, heir to the throne of Brythonia, age 8, daughter of Aytena by her second husband, is age 8, betrothed to the 5 year old great-grandson of Comes (formerly Dux) Maximus Artorius of Dyfed (only son of only son of eldest son; thought it was a matrilinear betrothal, but it looks like it's a normal... have to see what happens when they both come of age.)
Rex Amilo Bolgios, Aytena's Galatian second husband, is 32, with a strong claim on the throne of Singidunum (which is much too far away to consider pursuing at this point.)

The Welsh Artorii have a healthy brood (Maximus has 3 sons and 3 daughters, all but the eldest daughter living.) The Cornish Artorii are the hillbilly branch (current king Gerallus I, grandson of Magnus, is 27 and has been married 3 times, twice to aunts, and currently to a cousin. Other than Gerallus, his wife, and his son by wife/aunt #2, the only other surviving member of the clan is his 20 year old spinster sister.)

Queen Aytena passed away of natural causes at age 44, leaving her throne to her 13 year old daughter, Umaxa. The Welsh Artorii have been displaced, Maximus' deceased eldest daughter's eldest son, Mael-Duin Ua Mail Sechlaen inheriting rather than any of his living sons (agnatic-cognatic gavelkind is bugged, the daughter's son should only have inherited if none of the sons were living nor had living sons.) The Cornish Rex Gerallus Artorius now has a son by his cousin/third wife as well as his aunt/second wife; his sister is still a spinster at 25.

Queen Umaxa died at age 20. Repeatedly, when I tried reloading autosaves, so it's likely a low health thing, though she doesn't have any poor health traits except Intrigue Challenged. Unmarried (dearly beloved is chancellor in Perfeddwlad, still part of independent Gwynedd) and without issue. As she is the last of the Pendragons, it's game over.

I'm going to zzzzzzz now. Tomorrow I'll continue my Pendragon misadventures and game tweaking. If I'm satisfied with the tweaking I'll release the update tomorrow night because at least it will have the vassals join in wars against you system in.

Ok thank you, just saw this as I was about to go zzzzzzzzzzzzz. I am going to most likely address health too somewhat. I'm still thinking on best ways to handle it. Now going to zzzzzzzzz.

Yes, it's awesome :) So was EQ1, back in the day! I've had a lot of close runs in my quick LI games, but nothing THAT close.

Another of the Pompous/Plain events:

As you are set to celebrate the birth of the founder of your bloodline, one of your learned courtiers comes to you with a suggestion. He believes it is time to re-enact a magnificent ancient ceremony once performed by your ancestors...

We shall emulate our ancestors! 50% chance gain Pompous trait

Those times are long gone. 50% chance gain Plain trait

And another:
A foreign delegaion [sic] is set to arrive. Your chancelor [sic] believes you should welcome them with an elaborate ceremony in order to impress them...

I fell quite ceremonial! 50% chance Pompous

No ceremonies will be held around here! 50% chance Plain

Spelling corrections: delegation, chancellor

It's hard being a good Mithraic-Christian these days, but my friend truly shocked me when I realised we did not share the same religion. My dear friend is a heretic!

One of several events (some if not all of which are vanilla) that trigger when a friend or some member of your court is a heretic, without checking if you are of the same heresy. With the prevalence of heterodox faiths in Lux Invicta, these really need a trigger revision.

Here's the event's header and trigger section:
Code:
character_event = {
	id = 100180
	desc = "EVTDESC100180"
	picture = GFX_evt_heretic

	age = 16
	prisoner = no

	trigger = {
		war = no
		in_command = no
		num_of_friends = 1
		scaled_wealth = 0.5
		NOT = {
			religion_group = muslim
		}
		NOT = {
			has_character_modifier = heretic_friend_timer
		}
		any_friend = {
			war = no
			in_command = no
			prisoner = no
			OR = {
				is_heretic = yes
				NOT = {
					religion = ROOT
				}
			}
		}
	}
That is_heretic = yes inside the OR is almost certainly the culprit. I don't think it or the OR itself is needed, just the test on NOT = { religion = ROOT }; maybe eliminate the preceding test for muslims as well. (Plenty of heterodox muslims in this world.)

@richvh

Thank you. I will look into the pompous/plain stuff and spelling stuff. I'll check out your aar. :)

And yeah vanilla events, I'll look at them too.

@Ofaloaf

Those pompous/plain events were mostly meant as a way to make it possible to acquire those traits. I put several in otherwise you'd never see those traits basically... I probably wrote them at past 1am too so not much thought was put into them tbh. :)
