Bug fixing continues, though I'm afraid I don't have an update on this issue. In cases where vehicles get stuck, it's always helpful for us to have the specific save as it may happen in certain circumstances. If you haven't already, we'd very much appreciate a bug report with the save attached, ideally saved with the camera looking at the stuck public transportation vehicles. It helps a lot in solving these types of bugs.
It probably bound to dogs being part of planned passengers and script waiting for them to board. Regardless if they're not there. The bus stop maybe should have everyone at position if cim agent with the pet decided to go for a ride. And direct question to dev team. WHY!? the public transport clearly desiged to collect planned passengers pack instead of strictly time sheduling. Even in Cities I it worked exactly this way, with smaller flaws.

  • Improved Land Value System
    • Service Coverage of Healthcare, Education, Police and Telecom now affects Land Value
    • Reachability of Commercial Services now affects Land Value
    • Stops and Stations of Public Transportation now affect Land Value
    • Noise, Water, Air and Ground Pollution now affect Land Value
    • Shorelines now affects Land Value
So, "Land Value" problem was that there wasn't a "Land Value System" working at all? What a shame...
Performance, apparently was improved. I think that still can be improved more, but they need to rework the assets. May be it's too late to rethink how the level of detail works in the game. Having a lot of details just to take a screenshot, should be activated and deactivated with a button... More work is needed to be done by unpaid programmers, aka modders... LOL

I feel like if they removed dogs it would fix quite a bit, and given how many issues and bugs with them have been discussed in the WOTWs and elsewhere...

Many of us bought the ultimate edition that included the beach properties prior to any knowledge of what would be in it. But the image used to promote it showed beaches. We have a right to be upset.

fact check: true :D

It even shows palm trees used on the properties

So even after this update, we still can't prefab things like intersections / road grids in editor to paste in to our cities? Come on... This is base game functionality for goodness sake!

Pointing out the fact the CO did what they promised and didn't attempt to deliver something they didn't promise is not defending the company "no matter the cost". It's pointing out that people need to be fair and only criticise the company for things the company actually did wrong, not for imaginary wrongs that only exist in their heads. I have never once said the Beach Properties Asset Pack is good, or even adequate. What I have always and only said is that CO didn't deliver a "Beach Pack" because they never promised one, since it would by definition be more than an Asset Pack.

Last day you implied and argued that the Dlc would add sand and we should have given CO the benefit of doubt.

Now that we know sand and beaches aren't included, did you change your mind?

That argument was about what the waterfront zone would include, not the asset pack per se. Both are part of the Waterfront Expansion Pass but they're not the same things.

So until release you also thought that it would be reasonable for beaches/waterfront zones to be included (and chastised people for saying it wouldn't be included), and now you're criticizing people who also thought it would be reasonable?

"I want to know why people are convinced without even seeing a waterfront zone that "redefining" your coastline doesn't include sand"

So do you or do you not think it's reasonable for the Beach Properties pack to include actual beaches? You certainly seemed to have thought it was.

I see some people commenting on the guy who asked where are the beaches.

It doesn't matter if the DLC says "Beach Properties" or not, you still expect there to be a beach.

If you order a Hamburger and I give you Bun and condiments. Don't you expect the patty?? You don't build "Beach Houses/Properties in the middle of a city, it's no longer a Beach house but just a house. So him asking, where are the beaches is a very valid question.

I think some of this was baked into the cake so to speak. There have been cascading consequences to the decision to release the game early. That’s not my opinion, the devs admitted they ran out of time.

As a result, many items were left unfinished and I strongly suspect beaches were one of them. They may arrive in Ports/Bridges but I don’t think that was the original plan because this Asset Pack is made for beach or water fronts. If it was always the plan to add beaches in Ports and Bridges, this asset pack would have been scheduled after it, not before.

That being said, by the time they realized beaches would have to be cut, the pre orders for the Ultimate Edition were already out the door and they didn’t want to issue refunds and have people pre order again. So they stuck to their plan. Which is fine.

In all fairness, beaches were never advertised or shown in any capacity. This asset pack doesn’t make sense but that’s fine too.

Maybe this is on us for believing or intuiting more than we were told given how they’ve had to redeploy resources to specific areas of concern at the expense of other goals (I.e. performance post release, the editor, modding, graphics, etc.)

I end this pointless post by saying, let’s hope that by the end of 2024 we have a significantly more polished game and that key features are added (asset editor, etc.) I hope beaches are in the plans.

This is also supported by the fact that there’s a wave mechanism that doesn’t work adequately yet. Maybe one day it will.

I made a very long post about what I think happened and this corroborates my thinking.
