the easiest would be the last option... as the ai will start on those techs that isn't on the list, when it runs out of those...

PB-DK, could you take a look at "Language specific units"? Just to check the danish names.

And I agree, it would be easier to just swap the models. Also, I don't think there are that many countries that start with fighters, so fixing the OOBs shouldn't be too hard.

I don't think there are any, are there?

Of course, the tech tree will have to be changed if we are making this model change...

Not very extensibly, you just change the model numbers in the activation techs, AFAIK.

German ship names

GER;BB;Ersatz Scharnhorst

Ersatz in German ship names actually means "replacement" (or something to that effect). This is because, according to the Naval Law passed in German Parliament in early 1900's, there were quotas for each ship type and new ships could only be built if they were to replace decomissioned ones. Freya was an old cruiser, and Ersatz Freya is the ship that was supposed to replace it in the naval list (it was actually BC Hindenburg).

Thanks :) This was rectified some time ago, but it's good to see some people are on the ball

Maybe the italian and german ones could have their names a tad longer? Say Dirigibile M, instead of just M for ITA_15_1. It feels a bit "poor" like you have it.

Poor, but true. Anyway I suggest giving a few explanations in the tech descriptions, like the famous HOI "Historically, these were the German......, British....." :D

Hint: I'm working on several more techs for the dirigibles. Will submit my proposals, text and photos soon in the tech and zeppelin threads. :)

Wonderful! :)

Is it enough to fill up the balloon tech field?

Poor, but true.

I just mean that the build menu may look a bit strange with a single letter there, and I was suggesting something like letter type airship as the entry.

Yes, but I'll need help with the techs - I mean I have ideas, photos, etc.; but I have never implemented new techs in HOI, so I don't know how to do it yet :)

Oh, and one question Allenby....Is it possible to reshuffle the levels in the Balloon tech field. For example Level 1 to become Level 2, and one of the current "free" extra levels to become Level 1. I know tech fields are often cross-related - for example "Hydrogen production" with the Industry tech field, so I'm not sure......

It won't be a problem to implement it your way, but what is then the difference between the airships and the destroyers and cruisers, that are also often described only by single alphabetic letters? :)
Anyone else to share his opinion on the matter?

Leave the implementation and coding to me :)

Sure :) Just post what you think needs to be done.

None, they would be the better for a "-class" addition too, IMO. But you were asking about the airship model names. :p

Not much except "Class M" sounds better than simply "M". Too James Bondish perhaps.

I suggest the following for Germany:

MODEL_GER_15_0 LZ-Typ
MODEL_GER_15_1 M-Typ
MODEL_GER_15_2 R-Typ
MODEL_GER_15_3 W-Typ

or even:

MODEL_GER_15_0 LZ-Typ Zeppelin
MODEL_GER_15_1 M-Typ Zeppelin
MODEL_GER_15_2 R-Typ Zeppelin
MODEL_GER_15_3 W-Typ Zeppelin

OK, guys... you have convinced me :)
BTW, I'm thinking of introducing a reference of the models of the TGW mod in the beginning of the Models.csv. I saw it in the CORE Models.csv file and I think this is a handy idea.
