Hi all,

First I want say the mod you (makif130289 and the rest helping) are making look's great and interesting. And it's nice with a different approach to MDS2. Not that the MDS2 team have done anything wrong.

Second, do you need any help? With modding and such. I maybe new on the forum but I been modding HOI2 for years now. I also very interested in everything that has anything to do with military stuff :D Only problem is that I don't have Iron Cross, but that shouldn't be so hard to get :)

In the mod, what all is just going to be converted from MDS2 1.6 and what is going to be brand new ? If I start doing some tech teams files, are we useing the same tech components as in mds2 or the old ones from the originaly games or brand new ones ?
 
Ok, I added new ministers, made events for the elections as well as for the major governmental changes (I hope I made them without problems, and that Russia's tag is RUS :) ), and added their descriptions too. Please check if it's good.

Also, Romania should start with political_left = 9 and interventionism = 6 (this one's because Romania had participated in Afghanistan and Iraq before even entering NATO).

P.S. There should be an energy bonus in Constanta province, since there is a nuclear plant.

I have converted everything that we need from MDS2 1.6. The new part will be scenario which I am working on now. I added modern day national ideas, buildings, new paramilitary unit, created modern day map for Iron Cross map and made many more small changes. In short, Modern Warfare Mod will be MDS2 1.6 database + new scenario + New AoD features like buildings and ideas + New Iron Cross map with over 6000 provinces.

You can mod everything you want but I would suggest you to tell me before doing anything because otherwise you may change things that are not available anymore or already changed.

Great :). And of course I tell you what I start to mod. I skip doing the tech teams then, and start doing something for the scenario instead. I'll be back, when I got something for you.
 
Makif, what do you think about an event like this?

Some "nitpicking":

1. Only -20 to relations with Russia and Transnistria and -5 with Ukraine? TOO, no, TOO small to be serious.
2. A country is annexed and it can't even decide to be annexed?
3. No international discussions or influence?
4. etc.
5. ???????
6. PROFIT!
 
Ok, I agree with point 2, and that can be solved easily. But I'm curious to know in more detail how you would see it more appropriate. :)

First of all, I want AI to follow historical route, so this kind of event should only be available for player. Secondly, Requirements shouldn't be high relations with Moldova. Romania being dictatorship and having international stance "militarism" could be two main requirements. Even if these conditions are met, then you have to invade Moldova. If World War doesn't break out yet, Then you may face Russian intervention. Only advantage you may have with this kind of event should be cores on Moldova.
 
My idea was for a peaceful, non-invasive way of doing it, which would be plausible because the majority of the Moldovan population are Romanian ethnics, so I still see relations as a condition (and maybe even the regime in Mol.). But in rest I agree with the event being player-only and with a Russian involvement (somehow, maybe not necessarily war). :)

If they now are Romanian ethnics why would they want to have their own country? Isn't Moldavia the poorest country in Europe or something like that and Romania in the EU and getting wealthy? Wouldn't it be better to have a union then but of course they aren't so I don't think they want to be incorporated with Romania peacefully, that's my opinion ;)
 
EMBARGO SYSTEM

Hi guys, I mentioned before about embargoes. You won't be able to continue your dictatorship without being punished by US and its allies. We are living in US-led world order and thus embargoes will be based on this fact.

You will get embargoed if :

1) you are communist ( Cuba, North Korea)
2) you have relations with USA worse than -180 ( Zimbabwe)
3) your international stance is revisionism and your national culture is fundamentalism or nationalism (Iran)
4) your international stance is military expansionism ( Saddam's Iraq)
5) you are totalitarian (NS) and your international stance is revisionism
6) you international stance is world police ( so it is meaningless to try to benefit from being world police without defeating United States)
7) you are authoritarian (FA) and your international stance is militarism. ( may be Myanmar )

I will add few more. Embargo event is persistent and valid for all countries. So, I hope to create a dynamic embargo system which will reflect US-hegemony.



However, If Shanghai Pact defeats USA, then you there will be no more US embargoes but Shanghai embargoes and consequently there will be different triggers.

Here as Iran, I am embargoed because I am revisionist and fundamentalist.


Status-Quo powers will be never embargoed unless you won't have relations with USA worse than -180. You may say that isn't it better to have international stance "Status Quo" instead of "Revisionism". Yes, but Status-Quo idea is not available for dictatorships and you won't be able to declare wars without being dictatorship.

I will soon explain international reaction event similar to embargo event.

US-hegemony? This is a bit too much. I dont think that china must fear embargo coming from usa. Well for smaller countries its appropriate.

China and Russia won't be embargoed according to these conditions. Embargo events are prepared mainly for minors and alternative scenarios that will be created by the player.

For example, Communist China ( I mean real communist, like in comrade Mao's time) or expansionist Russia and Germany will also get embargoed.
