i found an article about the Haran school from the Y.S.E.E (supreme consul of Ethnikoi Ellines) Forum not many things to see historicaly but it will give you a (spoiler alert) a name of a philosopher of the Haran era and his story, Leo the Mathematician https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_the_Mathematician

Thanks for the heads up!

That's a good idea. I am glad you are working on something a little less ambitious. But if you don't mind I have a very silly question. I have made a few mods in the past and at the moment I am maintaining a portrait mod for a mod called after the end, a total conversation set in a medieval America. I love your viet mods and am thinking that After the end fans chould use some of your fun events. With that in mind whould you be ok if I made Viet compatibility patches for after the end? My idea is just to make most of the events work in the mod and edit a few localizations to fit the setting. Would that be alright or is that not a thing you approve of. If you are ok with that is there anything I should keep in mind adapting your work to be compatible in a mod? Many thanks.

Funny thing was way back when the original After the End was a thing I was considering offering my services to provide input for any Asian-American/West Coast related stuff After the End might have, such as flavor and cultures, since I'm Asian-American from the West Coast. Anyways, please feel free to do whatever with my work, I'm sure some of it can easily be adapted without any changes and some could be adapted with minimal changes to the text.

what the hell happening with thabit ibn qurra fertility, i bring both philosophers to my court (jabir and thabit and their children) train them and find them woman jabir makes 2-3 kids in 56 and dies in 63-64 thabit is 30 and in one gameplay i give him the most fertile woman of my plays (which gives birth to 10-12 children) yes taylor swift it is, and still no kids :p

Bad RNG looks like it, heh. Sometimes

Many thanks! I was thinking of makeing a new religion mod but I have come to the conclusion that the religions in the mod are a little too cluttered as it is. An attempt to convert your mod might be more welcome and might give me more insight on makeing future mods. Looking forward to changeing the flavour of your mod. Prehaps convert Baklava to hotdogs? ;)

@Emperor5000 You certainly plow through my content fast! D: And thanks for picking up on that bug, seems like that was an edge case.

@Truewhit Uh... I guess if you want to go with some sort of food I like that's sweet like Baklava, Cookies and Cream Ice Cream? Or Oreos? <_<

hehehe i liked it, the school of haran was certanly a school of genious children xD....which gives me an idea for a future version 3 a long time later in a galaxy far far away...why not making my children take some harranian traits (like neoplatonic fanatic which is my favourite because of character :p) by sending them under the guardianship of harranian teachers like thabit or battani

Reviewed your code, love the CYOA ideas, especially the scholar travel all around the world and build his origin. Thank you for the immersive experience.

Thanks! :) The mini-CYOA was pretty fun to make.

If I do go back I might do a bit more with the modifiers, yeah.

What about pound cake? That's a desert that they made in colonial America right?

Something colonial America huh... I'm neutral to that, but that would work if we're going with a colonial America theme.

Alternatively have instant ramen or something lol

Ah yes. The famous North American Ramen bush. ;)

i dont think you mod is competable with multyplayer...i have cheked it with one friend of mine, with remove the dlcs we dont hava and all the mods, we use only haran and peloponese packs, but the game says we had "different versions of the game" in the end we play without the mods...any idea what happend?

You never know what's out there in a post-apocalyptic wasteland <_<

I don't think it's possible for a mod to be incompatible with multiplayer.... Anyways, you don't need to remove DLCs since it will be based on what the host has, so my guess would be that for whatever reason you have different versions of the Harranian and Peloponnesian packs. Try unsubscribing and them re-subscribing them on Steam. If that doesn't work, my suggestion would be to unsubscribe from steam, download the manual download versions, and try using the manual versions. Additionally be extra sure you aren't using any other mods, or that you haven't made any changes to the mods (for instance if you edited files in my mods, but your friend doesn't have the exact same edits).

we found a solution and now we have a 6 people team to play the mod in multyplay (steam version) but i found 2 bugs or problems 1. edessa is not appear with the hellenic colour and religion in choices menu (the ground says miaphisite but when i play the game is all fine) and second to peloponese i cannot convert to tsakonian even if the area is tsakonian. and one question....do you consider the fact to create maniot culture as well?

You probably have plenty planned to work on already, but have you thought of doing anything with honourary titles to give them some more flavour? Whether new or existing ones. IMO, they're one of the least used features in base CK2 and by mods, and could really be made a lot more interesting with some more cultural/regional ones, even with a random flavour event or two. Could probably fit into either this or VIET.

Some examples to try to help spark creativity are things like getting into a sparring match with your Champion of the Blade, the Court Eunuch informing you of something (are they scheming?), your Court Poet/Musician/Skald writing a poem/song about you, your Court Völva giving you prophetic advice, the Court Jester getting in a fight with someone laughing at them because they're really the noble duke of such-and-such (maybe if they're wrothful and cruel, they kill someone in a rage and you get an imprisonment reason!), etc.

Just some ideas. :)

(1) is WAD, Edessa changes via a hidden event at game start to prevent compatibility issues by editing the code for province history. As for (2), are you able to convert to other cultures in other situations? I haven't done any changes to how culture conversation work.

I did consider making a Maniot culture but decided against the more inaccurate option of making the entire peninsula Tsakonian for simplicity's sake, I didn't feel it made sense to have a culture that exists in one province that will likely die out very quickly.

Yes, I do have plans to add some flavor events for minor titles in VIET! Nothing in the near future though.

you are right in one point one-province culture is not likely to survive...but...you make an event to bring a maniot warrior to the court by choice...you can use this event as user to train your son to maniot culture....or you can begin through costume as maniot, you did not add maniot culture but you yourself make ground to add it i dont know if it was a part of plan or not, but you have the "safe mechanism" if one way or another culture is lost... i think of them just as you add them...skilled warriors with bonuses on mountains and heavy infantry... as for the characteristics of this culture....you can copy-paste viking with the one trait the have (looter-ravenger etc) i would like to see that trait to the greek standards and die as king of looting :D

Just a heads up, but since the devs announced the wonders feature coming in the next update, I've decided to put off my Cremona-themed update until later, as its major feature was going to be the building of the Torrazzo of Cremona which I feel could work better with the new wonder mechanic rather than the buildings/modifiers method I was initially thinking of.

Anyways, I'm currently deciding between a few ideas to do next, so I'll give everyone a heads up once I choose one for good.

That was one thing I considered, but I decided against it - figured it'd just be easier to use Tsakonian as a catch-all, and the Tsakonian culture in-game is already in a bad situation without player intervention anyways.
