MP need CD each?

Hey guys I gather this is the General Discussions board? (So stupid Ive been looking in the forum lists above thinking it should be one of those.... never bothered to scroll down!!!!! :O)

I know you dont need the CD to play the game, but do all players need the CD in the machine to play MP. Or like Age of Empires games can 1 (or no) CD's support so many players?

Yippie I dont know whats with my cd but me and my mate tested and we can play multiplayer against each other without the cd. Glory be to small wonders!

Well since Eu2 only requires the presence of the CD as you start the program, in theory, you can load up infinite players, with only one CD.

Perhaps my PC is acting up (I'm not really a Windows kinda guy), but I found out the other day (by accident) that I didn't need the CD in the drive. Unless, of course, the CD of Traffic Giant is a secret EU II clone.

Did you perchance download the Aussie ver of 1.05.
That one does not need the CD in the drive.

lol either way big thanks to paradox as games are always better on multiplayer and we'll be able to play it now whenever we want.

So for testing on a LAN, I can try with one CD, is that correct ?
What is the maximum of players for a MP-game. After a month the update of our computerlab is finished, so I have a LAN with 30 places.

Has anyone tried this out - using a cd on two computers? I am buying a laptop, thus giving me two functioning computers - will I be able to set up a game between my home desktop and my laptop via my one EUII cd? That'd be sweet

Johan said just to open the scenario in wordpad and add another country tag to the initial nations. 9 would be possible, but 10 would run off of the screen.

The 9th can't join. IF it will be possible it will be in a new patch.
