Can someone explain the new music buffs to me? It says on the changelog that you get them from multiple IAPs. I have purchased all of the DLCs, plus I bought the game originally, and still no music buffs. So what is the threshold /min spend cap to get these, and/or why not just make them available as IAPs through the magazines as previously? Its kinda confusing IMHO.

Andrew

Ya, I never mentioned gold. I bought all the magazine expansion packs plus the game itself. Therefore I have made 4 purchases from Paradox with real money. My original question was never answered, though, how many purchases and in what amounts to get the music buffs? I have already made 3 when you include the expansion packs, so how many more do I need to make to get the buffs?

Ah, apologies - purchases made before the 'reboot' don't count either.

But, it's a nice idea... I'll have a think on this.

Cheers

Are you saying that the musical instruments aren't their own DLC. Instead, they are tied to the existing DLCs?
If that is true, are you saying that people who have already bought all the DLCs will never be able to receive the instruments?

No, they dont have anything at all to do with DLC's right now.

When you have made an ingame purchase you'll get one or more special tokens. These tokens can then be turned in for a music instrument. Each instrument has a unique strong group buff, the more instruments you have - all buffs increase in power.

Cheers

So we need to purchase gold or buy the starter adventurer pack to get a token which we turn in for instruments?

How many tokens does an instrument cost? Where do we turn in the tokens?

Are instruments permanent or a timed buff?

Please just tell me all the details about the instruments from beginning to end.

I'm with BD. This seems really cool, and it's new, so I'll stay optimistic, but I'd certainly like to know what I'm getting before I drop some cash. Also, are they trinkets that take up a slot, a new spell/ability, or simply a permanent/timed group buff?

Ok so I bit the bullet and did my first purchase. It caused the new music stuff to finally show up.
Seems that you get "tokens" to redeem, though I can't tell if the diamond that's now in the corner of all the packs are supposed to be the tokens.

It's a little unclear if they're guaranteed or random. Kinda seems strange that I can either buy the 2 dollar pack 4 times to get enough tokens, or the 30 dollar pack once for the same number of tokens.

As of right now, if I get 4 tokens I can get a harp trinket that gives +3% hp recovery, but I can't check atm if it was per turn or something. (I'll edit later when I can check)

Thanks for the info! If you have time for a follow-up with anything else you learn, I'd appreciate it.

Hey all. Sorry for disappearing without an update on my findings.
Unfortunately since I closed the app. When I got back to my tablet to play, the music IAP stuff had reverted back to before I made a purchase. So until I get paid again and can afford a few test purchases, I don't know any more information about the music. :(

Thanks err99!

I hope the devs/mods feel appropriately embarrassed over the fact that you are spending real money to figure out just how the heck this works since Paradox won't give us a full, straightforward answer.

Were you charged for the purchase? You seem pretty nonchalant about the fact that you spent real money, received your items, then lost them. Even if your game state reverted to before the purchase, your bank account probably didn't.

So far according to reddit observations, people got 0 tokens for music item purchases regardless of money spent.

This spells trouble.

Oh I DID get the purchase. It was the cheapest gold package. So I got the gold, just there weren't any tokens rewarded, and when what I assume shows how many you get with the new purchases showed up, I didn't make any more.

So no tokens, but the gold did get credited.

What I was saying about reverting was it no longer was showing the music and token part of the IAP.

And @BoneDude, I just hope they can figure out where the snag is and fix it. Mistakes happen. At least it's more an optional game enhancement rather than something super powerful that would completely turn gameplay on it's head. XD

I purchased one of the bundles and some gold because I wanted to see what the musical instruments do but didn't get any of the tokens for my purchase.. I contacted support and they don't seem to know anything about this either. I was told to tag @Nisshagen for a response.. Why does the game say a purchase will reward tokens but then when I actually spend money I don't get anything (well I got the gold but gold is pretty worthless in this game..)

Also I purchased the game and all DLC a while ago, while I understand why I don't retroactively get tokens it would be nice if you could consider awarding tokens to loyal customers who bought the game and DLC before it went free.

Hey,

You are likely to see different information from different players as we are doing an A/B test of this feature. Some players will see the feature - some won't.
It's difficult for us to communicate correctly on this feature without messing up the integrity of the A/B test, the best way is to simply see how it looks ingame.
If you're in the control group that doesn't have the feature and you attempt to trigger it - obviously it wont work.

If you have lost tokens or the music instruments, please contact support again. Also, I'm only sporadically on the forums. :)

@Nisshagen It did show next to the purchases as small gems and I did get info text but when I did a purchase I just got nothing :/ and now after restarting I don't even see the gems next to the purchases anymore.. So should I ask for refunds or something or what am I supposed to ask for when I contact support? When I made a ticket because I didn't receive the tokens they just linked me here and told me to tag you because they don't know.. :(

Yeah, guys. Just start spending money and see what happens!

I also feel the loyalists should be rewarded, but they need to fix IAP first.

I purchased two 1.99 gold packs and was only rewarded 1 diamond token. I'm still waiting for a response from support. Until then, I would hold off making purchases until they fix this.

For the curious, here is a screenshot of the IAP screen after you purchase your first gold pack (or two in my case!).
