My game crashes after I click play on the launcher. No mods are active. It has worked before. And I have a 1660ti nivda, a i7 and 18 gigs of ram. Can it be fixed or do I have to wait for another hot fix???

Right click on victoria3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.
Update that Nvidia driver to June 2024 https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us . If GeForce experience starts up after doing that, unload it.
THEN please expand your Windows paging file maximum size to 32gb
AND exit every other app you can before starting the game.

I only didn't set my max files size to 32 gig cause I dont have enough space it says I used this video

IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log
If it is the memory issue I suspect, then no game patch can possibly fix it.

I couldn't get the log it didn't give me one. I'm going to try and fix the paging file but I'm a little scared about doing it.
I'm going to change the paging file for D: because I don't think I can find enough space for :C
I know I should change the max to 32000 MB but what should the initial be??
It doesn't matter much as it will soon be expanded from whatever you put in there. I tend to make it half the maximum.

If C is your system drive, 6GB is not nearly enough free space to ensure smooth operation of applications (and virtual memory). I'm afraid you'll have to upgrade your SSD to at least a 512GB variant if you can't free up at least 10% of C drive space on a 256GB one.
