Hey, i like all Paradox Games, Supreme Ruler Eu3, Hoi3, but i want to suggest something new...

I want to make my point clear... of course world war 2 was cool but Hoi ALWAYS is world war 2 and ok supreme ruler is cool, it is like world war 3 and that make it different.. but what about a complete new historical game which fill´s the gap between world war 2 & napoleon´s wars?

It would have a big adventage for Paradox interactive.. it would be new.. there is NO, i repeat NO GAME in the WHOLE WORLD ever released from that time, which is no cheap produktion and realy a good, deep game.

I suggest that Paradox make a Game, a kind HOI/Supreme Ruler Mix which make it possible to play in a fully new dimension, which gives the player behind the computer a complete new feeling.

If we want to feel like a 2 World war Hero, we play HOI3, when we want to feel like a King EU3, but what is when we want to feel like the People felt in the late 20/early 21 century? It is called the "citizen century", and is famous for his buildings.. it would open complete new ways.. important for the game would be that you have the ability to play like it was in history, but also got the ability to make EVERYTHING new, it should have complete new dimension of time and abilitys and compare elements of HOI3, Eu3 & Supreme Ruler.

At first : The timeline.

The timeline should be handled different, like in other Games. It should have a start age and a maximal start age, but the ability to activate "no end mode".

Timeline : 1800-1917 are the Years you can start.

Important: The Game will have 6 Great Historic Campaigns, each of these Campaigns are comlaineable to Hoi3. Each of these campaings is complex like the the 2 World war in HOI3. Of course, you will able to play every country you want, but the main focus of the game is to simulate following wars, exactly like they were.

1 - American Civil War
2 - Napoleonic Wars
3 - Hegemony of the German Confederation (Vorherrschaft im Deutschen Bund), this campaign will start 1815 and end in 1871 and the main focus of this campaign are the prussian austrian and prussian frensh war.

4 - First Sino -Japanese War
5 - Japanese Russian War
6 - First World war

The Second world war could be added, with a addon. Cause the technologie & so on will get improved till 1938. In 1938 the game will finaly stop, you will be able to keep playing but there will be no more new tech. So there would be place for an HOI4.

Timeline:

You already red, there are a lot of wars, and each should be so complex like the 2 world war in Hoi3, that means it will need a long time to play it. So the player have to decide which campaign he want to play, cause its very certain that he will not have the time to play from the civil war till first world war. But it is also not possible to design a new game for each of this wars. So the time will move like in HOI3, so you can have months of fun with 1 campaign, and when you successed, you can keep the next. You will need a long time to finish playing that game (except you max speed).

Technologie: It is imporant to make a good 1800/1900 switch, that the nations realy use the technologie of the 20 century. In addition the good simbolisation of chemical weapons and first plains is important. Dont forgett, the first war got kavallerie too, so do not replace kavallerie with tanks..

In addition, this would be a great advantage for the sells, cause the people in the usa will say : wow a game like hoi3 which is placed in the civil war !!! i must get this..

The people in france & england& russia will say : wow that game is placed in the napoleonic war and is like hoi3, cool.

The people in germany will say : wow a game like hoi3 placed in the first world war, now we haven´t to play the nazi´s when we want to play our nation.

The Asian´s in the asia market will say (or better the japanese): oh wow a european game based in a asian war, i have to get that game, i think it must be cool.

And when the Hoi4 will get released there could be a Hoi4 version, for like 10 euro more which is like a mod for that game, with the same content.

I think that game would have something for everyone.. you can print big japanese guys on top of the japanese cover, big civil war soldiers on top of the us cover, german soldiers on top of the german cover, napoleon on top of the frensh cover and chinese people on top of the chinese cover! I think chinese people will buy a game more certain when it contains wars, which are more present for them, same for the americans..

Anyone got my opinion that that would be great?

Been here 2 years and never heard of Victoria?

I think its more telling of Victorias identity crisis - it kinda flies under the radar unless you have it firmly set to 'paradox'.

Identity crisis might be a strong expression, but i think you understand what I mean.

Critical research failure aside, it seems like this paragraph is underestimating the target demographic of PI's games by a large margin. Oooh, it has a picture of people from my country on the front, now I want to buy it but I didn't before!

Come on, I saw the Spanish Conquistador on the front cover of the EU3 box and fell in love. Look at his adorable little hat and his beautiful eyes. I want to explore the world in this game with my Spanish Conquistador I'll buy this game and make my dreams come true..

But then Paradox is itself developing Victoria 2... -_-'

It's like one month ago, a guy goes to the Blizzard forums and posts:

"Hey, got a great idea for a game: Basically, it's a RTS, where there are three different types of civilizations or races all with unique characteristics. In fact, I've been thinking really hard, and it would be awesome if one of the faction's characteristic would be to have a smaller quality army but which could build quite cheaply and fastly, enabling huge rushes."

:D

lol, I bet the responses where quite hilarious:

"uh... you mean, like Starcraft ?"

I've got another great idea for a new game! How about Paradox make a game that is set in the Dark Ages and have it be based on characters and dynasties rather than nations. Your character would be able to get new titles and advance up the ranks from a lowly count or something to eventually become the king of a huge empire. They could add in all sorts of events and traits for your characters and make them interact in amusing ways. Oh, and you should probably have it be all about a Crusader and Kings. :D

I know you're being sarcastic, but a Dark Ages game is the missing link in the Paradox game catalogue. I'd love to see a EU Rome-esque game based on the Dark Ages. The fall of the West, the rise of the Byzantine Empire, Vikings, great migrations, etc. would make for an interesting game.

Aw, come on! A Cold War/Modern timeline beckons! :(

I hope they announce a new game series at Gamescom:

Unnanounced Titles & Projects

Further titles as well as new exciting projects are set to be publically unveiled during Gamescom,
Though it likely means the EU3/EU:R expansion and CK2. Still awesome, but I'm dying for something more modern. Just a couple more days...

I would have thought that any Paradox fan would have browsed what their catalogue has to offer.

As for an entirely new game, I'd love a post-1945 game. One in the spirit of "Twilight Struggle" and "Balance of Power". I dare say a modern Victoria. Perhaps a mod will cover this scenario?

But really, if done well, Vicky2 will be my gaming nirvana and I might never need a new game. :)

I'm new with Paradox games. I recently bought AoD and HOI3/SF, and I'm very much enjoying climbing the learning curve for both games. I love the concepts and interface, especially the new military organization hierarchy with HOI3/SF.

It occured to me as soon as I laid eyes on these games that the HOI3 engine would be great for an American Civil War game. I've tried GG's War Between the States and the Ageod game, and I am convinced that an ACW game similar to HOI3 would blow them away.

Anyway, just a thought from a new Paradox fan.

I think a new game, focusing on economics, technology, arms race, covert and overt diplomacy, proxy wars, spheres of influence, spycraft etc could be outstanding. And Paradox games seem to getting more complex yet more accessible lately, so one can hope...

The lead up to the war, the war itself, and it's aftermath, are once again all covered in the Victoria games.

Really. I didn't know that. I knew the Victoria games covered the time period, but did not know you could do the ACW specifically. I still believe a game similar to HOI3, with it's focus on WWII, completely dedicated to the ACW would be great.

Maybe I'll take a look at Victoria 2.
