Awesome mod boulvard. I was playing on Extremely Fast speed and had no issues. Running it on an Alienware 17 laptop with no issues. Is taking some time to get acquainted with the new tech trees. Thanks.

At fast speed the mod no have crash, but for some unknown reasons the game at extremly speed can loosing some events ...i don't know why! :(
For this reasons I suggest playing at a slower speed, ideal is faster than normal.
Sorry for my english ...i'm italian, i know english only little bit. :p
In my mod I took great care of the German and the Soviet ... the German because it has its dark charm and many play with German, the Soviet because it is very undervalued and it is not right ... the Soviet peoples have suffered a lot but in the end the war they won it! ;)

I did Germany up to only June '38....then I started converting my mod (RLL - Return Lost Lands) to work with Irön Fist. I can try other countries if you like. just list them and which year to run it to.

My mod is aHistorical starting in '36 with Austria and Hungary back again (a new Austro_Hungary as paternal autocratic). They need to regain the Polish Galacian, Czechoslovakian, Yugoslavian, Tyrol (from Italy), and Transylvania (from Romania) provinces. The mod has Austro-Hungary and Turkey in an alliance. So Turkey helps Austro-Hungary regain their lost land (which they don't help much :) ) and Austro-Hungary helps Turkey regain their lost lands (Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabian peninsula, Iraq, Egypt, and Libya). I'm going through events right now.

Should I worry about the ai_"NameOfCountry".inc files or do I need to update those too? From what I saw, most of your upgrades and modding was tech tree.
 
very interesting ...something never proposed by anyone, it has some strong points that you must exploit.
I also changed the AI a lot ...an unspeakable effort!
AI is not an exact science like mathematics, it requires hours and hours of testing to figure it out.
In 1.09 I am improving on the eve of Barbarossa, German troops have decided to go on holiday to Europe ...I absolutely have to solve.
I advise you to try a game in full with the Soviet ... you will experience authentic moments of panic against the German AI. :D

Have you looked at the ai_ger.txt event file, specifically event 20007? Or have you change it? I had to remark a portion of it (regarding the Przemysl province) and another part of it (regarding Greece) since Przemysl is part of Polish Galacia (the Austro-Hungarian provinces that Poland received after WWI). It's the event that fires off Barbarossa and the trigger for that event is quite large. Certain GER local_flags and a lot of very specific triggers.

BTW - Here's the description of the RLL mod when you select Austro-Hungary to give you the aHistorical background based a few historical facts:
Since the end of WWI, both Austria and Hungary suffered from economic depression, riots, revolts, and change of governments. Austria came out of the February Uprising with Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss seizing power, tying Austria's government to the Catholic church, and attempting to dissolve the National Council. His attempt to dissolve the National Council outrage the people and he was forcibly removed from power by the people. As the new government was formed in 1934, it kept it's close ties to the Roman Catholic church and sought to reinstate the House of Habsburg within a constitutional monarchy under the young Otto. Hungary was going through it's own problems. The Hungarian Revolutions of 1918-1919 and a short lived republic (1919-1920) saw the emergence of the Kingdom of Hungary in 1920. With the support of royalists, Charles IV fought to regain the throne of Hungary only to fail due to regent Miklós Horthy's lack of support and (more importantly) the threat of war from their neighbors if Charles IV was given the crown. Miklós Horthy's lack of support of Otto's father didn't deter him from congratulating young Otto on his acquisition to the Austrian throne in April 1934. After the ceremonies, Miklós and Otto were discussing the harsh similarities of both country's histories since WWI and how the lost of economic territories caused both countries to suffer when Miklós presented Otto with a proposal. Germany was pressuring Austria. They outlawed the National Socialist and Fascist parties. Hungary and Austria had former provinces with armies on all their borders except one, Italy. They once were the second largest country in Europe, the third most populous in Europe, and the fourth largest industry in the world. They agreed to meet in secret to discuss combining their nations powers, military, industries, and futures under a new Austria-Hungary constitutional monarchy. One that would look to regain lands lost.. The Habsburg Horthy pact was forged. Looking East they sought a former ally to help regain those lands and the lands lost by that ally. And the Austria-Hungary Turkey alliance was born.​
 
I will most definitely try the Soviets. Still going through the new tech trees....love that you did a 1943 ACR (Armored Calvary Regiment), not having to wait for the '46 version was a pain. I'm playing Turkey right now....it lets me watch the war and still play around with the techs.

Unfortunately the cavalry of 43 is searchable only for Germany, Poland, the USSR, the UK and the USA.
Because they were the first nations to develop light mechanized divisions, I'm sorry. :D:D:D

That's cool. I use them with USA a lot. Besides I served in the 3rd and 11th ACRs before also retiring from the US Army in 1996. :)
 
For the USA I did new events at Pearl Harbor with a beautiful audio introduction.
For USA there are also many elite units: paratroopers, marines and rangers.
 
I like the sound of RLL mod, but aligning against Italy is a bad idea. Both Hungary and Austria had quite an Italian support in the '20s and '30s. One of the biggerst trade partner of Hungary was Italy. It helped its rearmament and political ambitions. Similarly Austrian independence was guaranteed by Italy. If Italy is lead by Mussolini in your mod, than even a reborn AH would not have Italy as an enemy.
Also while technically Otto was the heir to the AH throne, I think a much more capable would have been chosen as Head of State for both nations:

Why agree to a young and unskilled ruler, if you have Archduke Joseph? He was a candidate for the Hungarian throne for decades. He was already once a Head of State. He was immensly popular in both nations. He is a skilled military commander of ww1 and fot the last, he already has capable children, so succession wouldn't be an issue from the start.
You just can't find a better and more capable candidate.

I kept the politics of the countries of the game (ministers in office and succession) as it was in the original AoD, with some sporadic changes.
At the beginning Italy also contrasts Hitler, but then aligns and almost always becomes an ally.
Historically, the alliance between these characters is always a game of power and convenience.
They look like enemies, they make continuous trade agreements. They look like friends, maybe after 2 years they are at war with each other.
Difficult to adjust this in the game, I relied on how the original was.

It would be economic suicide for Hungary to distance itself from Italy. maybe if there would be a far larger trade partner or an alternate pod in the '20s.
 
I think I'm going to open a separate thread for RLL mod since this thread is about Irön Fist. I meant to mention that I'm going to make the RLL mod work within boulvard's mod. And I'm actually working on that now...shouldn't take too long.

HIO....since i seem to have some unexpected free time i going to post some feedback on your mod (( WELL DONE OVERALL...TY))....i rarely post but today i shall....first of all to those many many many people concern that it took so long to get the mod working with the jsme...well i manage to move it out and back in under 10 minutes which i consider good on this old win7 laptop. OKAY....MORE COMMENTS TO BE POST BUT PLEASE KEEP IN MINd THAT IT HAS BEEN YEARS SINCE I PLAYED AOD and some isssues might be the game and not the mod.
 
hio....i have polayed a game as germany to june 1941(( plus 3 starts i kept redoing opening moves)) and 1 game as japan to dec 1941....at both end points i load to see what the major AI nations were doing.....well they were all dead broke...no money in the bank...in fact all resources were low...partly due to the AI just massively building industry and the number of tech teams they had...but something is wrong when england is -378 dollars....anyway in my next game i will rise the amount of money each IC makes in the MISC TEXT.
 
hio....the next resouce that is lacking are RARES...its really hard to build a stockplie and the AI is unwilling to trade any to germany....this is due to the massive expandsion of IC and really is a AOD issue...as i dont think it can be fixed in the MISC TEXT file....anyway i edit a save game to give offmap resources to most of the major nations
