No Fear- A Polish Attempt to Conquer the World

I'm not the best player in the world, so the settings aren't to make my task a feat of champions:

Very Easy/Furious
Cheats used to lower dissent after a DOW and to increase war entry level

Note: The dialogue seems cooler if you imagine it to be said in a thick Polish accent.

Start:

Annexation of Czechoslovakia

Prime Minister Marian Zyndram-Koscialkowski steps up to the platform.

“My people, as you know, our archeologists recently discovered ancient Polish books in a cave near the Czechoslovakian city of Slakov. This, along with the text inside the books themselves, firmly states that Poland has ancient claims, yet present rights to the territory of Czechoslovakia. We have discussed this politely with the government of Czechoslovakia only to be mocked and ignored. We have tried every avenue a thousand times, and yet we are ignored. Well, we shall be ignored no longer!”

[Prime Minister Marian Zyndram-Koscialkowski waits 30 seconds for the crowd to die down]

“People of the Rzeczpospolita Polska, there is more to say!”

“It would take a stronger man than I to be able to ignore these insults on my human dignity, and as a human, I feel we must we MUST take action. As I speak, our army, strengthened by three new advanced engineer divisions, is marching across the border! I will not pretend to you, my beloved people of the great Polish Republic, that war is an easy casual thing. It is NOT. War is and shall forever remain hell. I wish there was some other option, but our human honor will not permit for these Czechoslovakian insults to go unchallenged! We shall meet these insults with the tip of our swords, and no regrets!”

[The crowd goes wild and chants “Rzeczpospolita Polska” long after the Prime Minister steps off the stage]

[War Room in central Warsaw, many men are looking over a military map of the Czechoslovakian border. The door slams open with a loud bang, and Prime Minister Marian Zyndram-Koscialkowski walks briskly in.]

“How goes the war gentlemen?” the Prime Minister questions loudly.

“Ah, Prime Minister, the war progresses well, yet not as planned.” Chief General Rydz-Smigly replies in a deep voice.

“Explain General”

[General Rydz-Smigly motions for the Prime Minister to come towards the big map on the table].

“As you can see here, the Czechoslovakians were only partially ready for us. They advanced from the Province of Kospice and took the Polish territory of Przemysl, but our advance from Cieszyn cut off both Przemysl and Munkacs from supply. As you can see, I personally commanded the assault on Troppau and slaughtered the scum in that province. The assault on Munkacs goes well, but is not nearly as progressive as Kospice and Troppau. We expect that province to be captured quickly now that they are out of supply, and the army there shall retake our home province from the Czechs.”

[Two days later the phone rings in the Prime Ministers office]

“Yes?”

”Prime Minister, it is I, General Rydz-Smigly. Our forces have advanced from Kospice and took the major Slovakian city of Bratislava, and my personal army broke through the thick Polish reserves in Praha. The war will be over shortly, the Czechoslovakian’s back has been broken.”

“Excellent, how are our losses?”

“We have lost roughly 40% of the 30 divisions sent into Czechoslovakia, the war was not easy Prime Minister”

“I see, but our reserves remain high, those spots shall be replaced as soon as the war is over.”

“It shall be done, Prime Minister”

“Excellent, and make damn sure that no one finds out about the fabricated evidence for the war. We will need more yet if Poland is to ascend the path of glory”

“Of course, Prime Minister”

An “Aggressive South”

The images are .gif now, I think the .jpg's are too big for 56k modems. Last post was getting close to a megabyte.

Anyway, a short update:

-An "Agressive South"

[A messenger arrives in the Prime Minister’s office]

“Prime Minister Zyndram-Koscialkowski, the foreign minister requests you to consider the recent proposition of the Allies to join their alliance. Foreign Minister Beck says his personal take on it is that it would provoke Germany into attacking the Greater Poland if there were to be a war between Germany and the Allies. He says every day it seems more likely, with the reoccupation of the Rheinland and all. He also says that despite the fact that we can leave such an alliance when we want, it may cause harsh feelings among the Germans and make it easy for the Germans to issue a declaration of war upon our Republic. He suggests we casually turn down the offer. What shall I report back to him?”

“Tell Jozef that I completely agree. Now go away, I have work to do.”

[The messenger turns to leave]

“Wait, and tell him that the turkey is coming along nicely and should be ready in a week.”

[A week later the Prime Minister of Poland speaks on a radio address to the population]

“I have unfortunate news, war is still not over my dear people. It seems that the leader of Hungary is slightly crazy and got it in his head that he could defeat us. Defeat POLSKA, the glorious Polish people, with our weapons gleaming in the morning sun. Hungary was mistaken and she is learning her lesson. Soon she shall be become part of the greater Poland”

“Easy Pickings”-A Drive to the Adriatic

[Another Radio Address to the population, the catchy 30’s tunes are interrupted by the Prime Minister]

“Today my friends, my comrades, my family, my people, it is time to embark on another great undertaking to expand our glorious empire into what it deserves to be. The Poles deserve an empire fitting for our bravery and courage, fitting for our might, and fitting for our honor. I, as your leader, shall attempt to do this to the best of my ability. It is my responsibility to make Poland into a great nation, one looked at with jealousy and fear by the rest of the world. Thank you for supporting me thus far.”

[The General knocks on the door of the Prime Minister’s office and walks in]

“Prime Minister, we noticed the Yugoslavs were only beginning to prepare for our invasion, and that it would be more advantageous to strike while they were still in the early stages, but our troops had not reinforced the western side of the border yet. The assault on Yugoslavia was easy pickings sir, and brilliant maneuvers made the losses minimal. Army Group 1, containing twelve divisions, struck due outh from Pecs, aiming for the critical Yugoslav city of Sarajevo, they encountered a few weak divisions of the enemy which were quickly dealt with. Army Group 2, also contain twelve divisions under my personal command, struck south from Szeged to Novi Sad. The purpose of Army Group 2 was to, depending on how the Yugoslavs reacted, either serve as a diversion, or to reinforce Army Group 3 in Beograd. Army Group 3, with 9 divisions, was to strike south across a small river border from Szeged into Beograd. The diversion worked perfectly, and there were only three weak divisions with low moral defending Beograd. The city was taken, and the Yugoslavs surrendered, and the country just needs to be annexed sir.”

“Excellent work General, If I could promote you further, I would. Dismissed”

[In a short radio address to the country]

“Our people, our nation’s mighty factories, need resources to exist. We have tried to buy oil from Albania only to be insulted and ignored. We have offered to trade, in generous offers in their favor, but still nothing. Well no longer, the citizens of Albania will feel proud to be part of the Greater Poland by the weeks end.”

Episode 4-Walking through the Rose Garden

“Again, my people, my glorious comrades and supporters, my dear friends. I have ordered yet another undertaking in order to establish our glory. Instead of an Eastern Europe in discord, we shall have a unified and shining country. As I speak, we are liberating the people in the Baltic States so that they can enjoy the freedoms and standards of living that we are citizens of Poland, have the obligation to give the poor citizens of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania. Long live Polska!”

4pol0.gif

[A short telephone call]

“All is going to plan, comrade Prime Minister, no significant resistance is occurring in the Baltic States.”

“Perfect.”

4pol2.gif

“My people, It hurts me to say it, but the corrupt Bulgaria was plotting to undermine our southern interests and slaughter the new Poles along the border between our countries. We live in troubled times, but this is a problem which we can fix. We shall liberate that country from their corrupt government!”

4pol3.gif

“Sir, things are going better than expected. We were expecting we would take serious losses in the province of Sofia, due to it being a narrow path of attack, little strategy could be used. Then from there, we would simply advance on the broken army into Plovdiv, here on the map, and accept the surrender. But our three pronged attack on Sofia was excellently executed by our skilled generals, and the Bulgarian backbone was broken immediately. Then we ordered a small reserve to help with a two pronged attack onto Plovdiv, and it was an easy victory for the Greater Poland”

“Excellent, give the generals involved a small medal or something. Dismissed General.”

[The Prime Minister’s term is up, and Felicjan Slawnoj-Skladkowski takes charge]

Poland is the new menace of the world, not Germany ;) . Maybe take over a far-away country like Liberia so there is a "Free Polish" element left (if you go to war with Germany and they win).

I sued for peace, I just didn't really talk about it, hard to include 20 peace offers throughout the whole story. You can see it in the text box in the last picture of my initial post. They always accept. I'll include it in one paticularly nasty thing I did to England much later on. I'll write the taking over of Romania tomorrow, and then the next day or so it'll start to get interesting the day after once Germany gets involved.

The problem is that I didn't the free IC to research transports.

Haha, your gonnna need to be very lucky, to tangle with Germany and survive (especially as poland, which seems to naturally be routed by the Germans).

Episode 5- Oil and Earth

5pol1.gif

“Sir, the attack on Romania has just finished. A complete success. Our plan of surrounding the country with small divisions, and placing large well-commanded divisions in the south, formerly Bulgaria, to punch through and grab the important cities worked well. The distracting large division on the Eastern front, taking a few provinces as a diversion worked smoothly. If it weren’t for our recent technical advancements in the infantry weapon’s field, our expansion could have been stalled by large casualties.”

“Good. Our economy is weak with low oil and rubber supplies. Albania’s mild wells helped a bit, but those Romanian oilfields are going to launch us to victory. Excellent work there General Smigly-Rydz. We need a southern front with Germany quickly, I’m worried our aggression may cause against the Allies and Germany sooner than we think.”

“It shall be done.”

[A messenger knocks on the door and gets permission to enter the Polish leader’s office]

“A message from Foreign Minister Beck sir, he says that your beliefs have been confirmed, and war has broken out on the Western Front. He says Germany is woefully unprepared and stupid to declare war on the low countries as well. He says that it is likely that they will break through within the next 12 months once they get their army mobilized.”

5pol5.gif

“The attack on Austria was a complete success; the Austrian army was not prepared to deal with such size and from so many directions.”
