NOT A BUG: Suddenly Granted Army Techs

Suddenly Granted Army Techs

I was playing as USA and had reached 1916. I had been playing on and off lately. But basically I had been ignoring most army developments. I was somewhere around 13 or 16 totall techs learned. After my last load I noticed that my armies had really high morale. So I checked and I suddenly had the Military tech tree completed. No idea what might have set it off, and I didn't get any odd events.

I am playing Vanilla Vicky 1.03c

Let's see:

1) Had you done any diplomatic deals to gain tech from countries?

2) Had you researched everything else as well, if that had happened you could of been researching military techs because you had too rather than becuase you wanted to?

#1 Nope, no deals, my BadBoys been too high to make any deals for a while.

#2 Nope, the culture tree is somewhere around 6 out of 25 and same with the commerce tree. I also currently have Traditional Academy.

I didn't edit the save file at all, but I belive it happened with my last load. Within the first month or two of playing I had a couple of military inventions fire (like Literate NCO's and such)

Well Techs don't just pop up out of thin air. Open up the saved game and at the bottom is the history log. Look for somethine like NCO training. No need to do it manually just search for it via the Word Pad search function. Let me know if you find anything.

After searching through the log for all my scientific advancements I belive that I should only be at 19 or 20 army advancements.

Ok I am in a spot of bother here. I have load many victoria games and never once got free techs. So I cannot at this time duplicate this, if I can't duplicate it then I cannot class it as a bug I am afraid. What I need is what was different about your game that caused techs to pop out of thin air. Until then my hands are tied.

I finally figured it out during the night. If you figure I gained 19 or 20 Techs during the game, and the US Starts out with 5 techs, then that explains it. I just hadn't played the game for a bit and forgot what point I was at.
