I would like the inclusion of alternatives for the same achievements. So we wouldn't have the cripple for every monarch injuried 5 times in battle. Alternatives such as "The Scarred", "the Fighter", "the Bold", "the Brave", would make sure the world wouldn't be filled with monarchs called "the Crippled." or filled with "The Pious"

Works for me! :)

Nicknames like 'the conquerer' are hard to get, as you get a nickname as a young man (remember, William was 'the bastard' before he was 'the conquerer'). An event might change a nickname at some point after one becomes king...

I wouldn't mind seeing monarchs nicknames changing if they do get something else. If they record it in the automated AAR, it could read something like "He was known as William the Bastard, and William the Conquerer". Something simple like that works for me. :)

I would prefer to not have that feature at all than to have it in the broken form, i.e. if the game would treat John and Jean separately or only worked for dynasty, not realms.

Numerals for kings are one of the most crucial things for me. Whether they treat john and jean as one and the same or not.

I definitely favor the addition of numbers to the Kings' names. I also like the idea of nicknames.

The addition of a couple of simple reference files for names and nicknames is all that's needed aside from the actual coding to make it work.

The name file merely needs to provide a list of alternate spellings for a name within different cultures that the game references when needed. That way the game knows that if King Jean of France becomes the king of England he would also be remembered as King John to the English.

The nickname file would merely provide a bunch synonyms that the game selects from at random for a given trait, so there wouldn't be seven rulers all nicknamed "the Flatulent". Better to have "the Gassy", "the Odoriferous", "the Farter", etc. As mentioned by others, nicknames should only be given to characters of particular note.

As for the numbers becoming confused as a king with more than one kingdom, just remember that James II of England was simultaneously also James VII of Scotland. One man, two titles. Since having multiple titles is a mainstay of CK, this isn't really a problem.

In summary, I like the idea of a character's "page" being something like:

Rank Name Patronymic Dynastic, "Nickname"
King title, title...
Duke title, title...
Count title, title...

So:

King John Nikolayevich Knytling, "the Well-Groomed"
King John IV of England, Jean II of France, Johann VI of Sweden
Duke of York, Varmland, Leinster
Count of Anjou, Poitou

King John IV of England, Jean II of France, Johann VI of Sweden

Or, just use the current British system in which the monarch takes the highest numeral for his or her name from among all their titles. For example there was no Elizabeth I in Scotland, but good old Lizzie is still Elizabeth II all over the UK because there was an Elizabeth I in England.
Similarly, if Prince Charles were to take the regnal name "Alexander" for whatever reason, he would be Alexander IV, because although there's never been a King Alexander in England, Scotland has already had three of them.

So in your example that I quoted, the ruler would be known as the VI all over his many territories.
