That is normal that you will get clipping on the edges, if you place and object the grid will expand outwards more. As far as your settings go, you should take a look at my original screenshot again if you want to get the numbers that will show you 8mx8m squares which the game uses.

Thanks, Yea, i've set it up like that now. The major lines aren't really visible in MAX. Useless feature :).

First time i'm working in 3DS Max.

Do you know how to get rid of that basic concrete texture that is applied on my floor plane?
It is applied from within the game. I dont want that. For the moment, i made the soccer pitch just solid green but i still see that bumpy texture (also on the gray area round the court).

And to you know the dimensions of the clip terrain texture tool? Thy have a little weird offset with a corner radius (very annoying)

I don't know much about the terrain clipping feature in the editor, never really used it. not really sure what concrete you are talking about, but you should be able to remove it using just using the grass ground tool.

No, there is a pattern on my grass which I didn't paint. It comes with the game. The ripples on the pitch.
I cant remove it. I used the clip terrain tool. I don't want the default grass popping through my field.

Any updated information on the Illumination map for vehicles? My FedUp truck has had one since I made it and the tail, break lights and blinkers have always worked. I played After Dark today and when it turned to night, I noticed my trucks headlights are illuminated, but aren't projecting light like the other vehicles. Any clue on how to fix this? I can't figure it out.

Also, on buildings. How do you make the blinking red lights like some of the buildings have?

Buildings have a prop for the blinking red light.

For vehicles you have to make your vehicle over again using the new templates, This will auto add lights. You will need to use mod tools however if you want to correctly position them exactly over the headlights.

Thanks. I know the blinking red lights are new props, I still want to know how they made it blink. ;)

Can you elaborate more on what you mean by mod tools? The mod called Mod tools? How do you have to use it to position lights correctly?

Can someone explain to me how I can let Cities Skylines also render the backside of the rail?

Or do i Really have to create more faces on the back side? That would be silly

You can place lights with the game asset editor, I believe that's what he meant with it. It's bit clumsy because the camera movement is restricted but it works anyhoos

I had a quick test, _i map seem to work fine. Placing the lights is bit annoying, the Z-axis value you put in the editor isn't working properly like the editor warns you. I have no idea what causes this, but it is annoying to jump between the game and editor to find the right value for it.

Ok, I guess I must be dumb, because when I import a new vehicle, there isn't any options to edit lights. How do I get that? Do I have to use the mod Mod Tools? I can see the lights shining out from inside my vehicle, but see no way to edit them.

*UPDATE*
I found a tutorial that helped me with the headlights. The excellent tutorial is by Preposterous Lucidity.

It helped me out a lot!

Ah mighty fine tutorial, thanks for the link :)

Also sorry, I had the mod Asset Vehicle Editor which gave me tools to edit lights. Figured those options came with the asset editor...
