USA Away!

Thanks, but we did Yugoslavia. It went in alphabetical order, then UK, US & USSR.

Anzu - what are your sources for this materiel? I don't think there were two Naval Infantry divisions based in Vladivostok - AFAIK, there was only ever one.

Anzu, you haven't modeled the US Nat'l Guard and Army Reserve units in the USA OOB. I have the information about the situation of the US Army from 1978 from the US Army, so it ought to be accurate.

Great website. Especially the team members page.

The two marine divisions in Vladivostok can easily be explained - they are really two independent divisions: Far East Naval Infantry Division , plus one independent Naval infantry and one Spetsnaz Naval Bde (though one of those brigades was really located in Khabarovsk). That justifies the two divisions, imo.

edit: And the Soviets liked to have two independent Naval brigades in most coastal MD's, so instead of the posted one division, I always split them up into two half strength div's, if that's ok?

Having an extremely hard time finding correct names for air units, though... those freakin' air armies are overlapping everywhere, and units were rotated around the entire European theatre...

@AXiN:

That's two HQ's in the North Caucasus MD - the 2nd and 7th Combined Arms Army. I guess anzu was just overtired when posting, but it's accurate nonetheless.

I think I use the same source as Anzu to find the names of units, but there were a few mismatches in numbers (though the correct provinces are given, it just does add up in the end ;) ). Have moved a few divisions here and there though in the Ukraine... can't even find half of the places in the oob list on the map (darn Ukrainians just had to rename every single village after the SU fell apart :/ / and just place them as close to the oob given here as possible.

Ah.. that explains it. But you sure you don't want naval spetznaz as paratrooper or "SF" unit?

Are you using Andy Johnson's NATO and WP OOBs?
