Long time since I played AoD, but did a test run with Italy till about 1940.

Not sure if this 1.05, but why does it take the 1943 tech to be able to build Light Armor brigade, yet some Italian militia in Ethiopia start with them in 1936?

Popup and pause for various messages (research completed, for example). Pressing goto unpauses the game again. (not sure if WAD)

Spanish Civil war was deadlocked for 3 years.

Was convoy raiding with my surface raiders, but only caught one convoy in the Med in many months. (not sure if this reported problem was fixed). Even if everything was rerouted around Africa, I should still get the Malta resupply convoys.

My old Italian ships could hardly sink anything, but I switched to Sealane interdiction doctrine path, and had only a couple of techs researched. Also no radar, FC, secondary armaments etc on the BS.
Then again, I hardly lost anything in multiple encounters with the French fleet with the Baern.
Once again, not sure if WAD.
 
I'm having to reload my game as Nationalist China literally every 3 minutes because of "unknown string wanted" attack orders... this is so frustrating.

And that's when I'm NOT crashing because of right-clicking provinces.

Edit: Unrelated to crashing... I have 34 divisions in a province. I use ONLY 12 with a field marshal to attack a neighboring province... why do I suffer a stacking penalty? :( I really don't understand the changes AOD made from HOI and the manual is not helpful!

It forces me to reload because my forces will never attack... since the year is like ten thousand years in the future.
 
Now that the AI builds INFRA are there any plans to allow puppet masters and majors to build infra in minor/puppetted countries? That would be realistic and add flavor.

Also I see nothing in the change log about the Rocket Interceptor upgrade path in the files? As it currently stands no nations research Rocket Interceptor except germany, and all nations that build Interceptor max out in 43, never to expand past that no matter how long you play.

Very big bug.
 
Transfer unit from country to allied country

I was playing UK and I decided to transfer (through new AoD button) irakian plane to UK.

Then I built my own INT and when it was in the pool, i have been allowed to join it to the irakian one.
When I decided to split them, the UK one was considered as irakian!

It was impossible to consider it as UK.

A workaround is to go to friendly troops, tell it to strat redeploy (you don't have to actually do so) and the date fixes. Otherwise nothing can move. I still crash like every damn ten fucking minutes, pardon my cursing. (Really quite irritating when you can scarcely finish a single campaign against one tiny eastern Europe country like Hungary without crashing at least once.)

I am using a mix of .16 Cold War and the newest Beta with CTD hotfix.

Pointless Communist China influence offensive?

Yeah! What is all that about, Italy, Nationalist Spain, Hungary and others have all been influencing Communist China! Why does AI do it? Is it "the AI got bored" thing?

I also see Japan influencing Norway! :S

The last picture is showing Nationalist Spain with a very small army defending its homeland! The same goes for Italy time to time. I think Nat Spain does that because most of its army goes to Germany once in Axis, so I can edit that, but I just find it bizarre.

This really is strange - playing NAT CHI now.. its 38 and im getting a beating by japanese ;)
~200 militia for defending the northern front was enough - but within the last 3 months they broke through in the south and east.. i thought that 3 divisions on each beach where enough... my bad ;)
i have stalled all 3 fronts - but until my mobility doctine is done i cannot retaliate
effectively.

So playing for hours from 36 to 38.. 0 crashes - 0 bugs.
Running XP SP3 on 1680*1050...
I dont understand what i need to do to get the bug...
 
One hint I've discovered for China balancing. In AI-AI play (this is on 1.04) China never wins the Guangxi war because it never attacks. If it's still at war with Guangxi when Marco Polo comes the Chinese don't stand a chance. I tried lowering the attack odds and that didn't work. I tried giving then a blueprint for 36 infantry and the AI didn't know what to do with it. I tried giving them 36 infantry outright and they cut through Guangxi Clique like a hot knife through butter and actually provided the Japanese with a bit too much challenge. I tried giving them the blueprint for mobility focus and easing up the Guangxi Offer Peace event and that seemed to do the trick. Here's the new event

If you're playing China as human research mobility focus and 36 infantry right off the bat, and you'll have to find out the number needed to guard the beaches by experience. The huge stacks of infantry-militia should help for a while but I think you'll eventually need bergsjaeger. For doctrines you can also try the Japanese or Chinese communist path.
