I definitely want increments in the game, if the game takes a lot of turns I don't want to be out of time for the couple of moves I really want to think hard about.

Yeah, I'm definitely keeping the increment. Probably sticking with 15|10 unless I get more complaints about it; I doubt I'll find a time control that everyone considers optimal.

And speaking of lichess and suboptimal time controls, they've got a 24-hour long hyperbullet tournament (30 seconds per game) going on soon. We're definitely not doing anything like that. :D

Put me in, please, if it's not too late. Don't know how I missed it earlier.

All right, the tournament begins now!

You will have 3 days (72 hours) to play against your first round opponent and report your results to me. You will be responsible for setting up a time and site on which to play.

If you need help in knowing how to setup a challenge on chess.com or lichess.org, I can probably help with that. Any other sites I have no knowledge of.

Feel free to post your games in this thread if you think they are interesting, too!

Is there any good way to record matchups? I kind of want to, but I don't have recording software and don't plan on getting any.

Most chess sites save what's called a PGN file of your game. Also, both chess.com and lichess.org keep records of every game you play, which you can link to easily enough.

If you want to videotape your matches, I can't help you, though.

Would you recommend chess.com or lichess.org?

Watch me lose hard :D
