PDS is happy to present:
My name is: Dan Lind
My forum nick is: Podcat
At Paradox development studio I work as: Project Lead
So what do I do, really – what does that mean? It means I'm responsible for making sure a game goes from a rough sketch on a pub napkin to Steam for download. This involves managing a team and keeping The Powers That Be (Johan) up to date and happy, programming, writing game design documents & sketching interfaces, reading very long feedback threads on the forum. Other activities include PR, like live streams, writing development diaries and answering interviews and sorting out installers and builds for releases as well as managing contact with beta testers (90% of that is posting cat pictures)
I have worked on: EU3, Rome, HoI3 (+ For the Motherland and Their Finest Hour), Victoria 2 (+ A House Divided and Heart of Darkness), CK2 and a bit on EU4.
Right now I´m working on: Secret! Working title is Project Armstrong.
My best game ever and why I like it: Eve Online. An amazingly immersive sandbox game and a large community to troll the socks off.
My hobbies include: Computer games, board/card games, photography, crafting, reading (mostly sci-fi)
I have decorated my desk with: Katanagatari figurines, a blue monkey and a toy cat called Kuroneko-sama.
My super power is: Eating ghost peppers without dying.
My kryptonite is: Early mornings. No, just no.
My personal motto is: Reject reason to make the impossible possible!
Little known fact about a Paradox Development Studio game: Hearts of Iron 3 had a spooky bug in a province named Samara (the name of the monster-girl in the movie remake of The Ring) where any units entering it would disappear forever. Probably dragged down a well and eaten.
